That is just heartbreaking. The obsessed fangirls would have slammed anyone playing Harry's love interest, but it's just a shame that they're bringing race into it. That girl is adorable, there's no reason for it. I did see on IMDb where a girl posted a pic of herself saying she looked like that actress, and people were just tearing her to shreds. I know IMDb boards are rife with stupidity, but that just takes the cake -- making insulting, racist remarks about young girls. I worry about what they'll do when Order of the Phoenix comes out and Harry kisses Cho. I'll be avoiding the Internet like the plague then, I guess.
Ahem. The movie. I loved PoA, so right now it's tough to say which I like better (the first two were just OK for me). I do definitely think Dan Radcliffe is doing really well with some of the heavier material (and some of the lighter stuff as well -- his "How could anyone have figured that out? That's completely mental" to Ron cracked me up). The scene with Shirley Henderson was hilarious (if a bit disturbing!) too.

I agree - that scene with Ron was pretty funny and DR delivered it well.
I read somewhere that Shirley Henderson (Moaning Myrtle) is 39! She looks no where near it and it adds an interesting wrinkle to her scene with 14 or 15 year old Daniel Radcliffe.

Shanmac, what you just said is exactly the reason why I try to avoid imdb at all costs. I can't stand that site and its incredibly stupid posters. Topic: Huge HP fan here and I enjoyed the movie very much. I was nervous at the beginning because it was so rushed, but it settled down nicely once they got on the train. Dan's acting has improved so much. He was absolutely heart breaking in the post-graveyard scene. Rupert was very good as usual. The only one that I didn't think was that good was Emma Watson. Where as Dan gets better with each film, Emma gets progressively worse. Kind of a shame, since I thought she was great in the first movie. Overall, PoA is still my favorite, but I did love this one. I must say though, I'm already nervous about OotP. The guy directing it has no big screen experience, just TV movies and *shudders* workout videos. This will be his first full-length feature film. On the one hand, he could be an underrated genius. On the other, the HP movies could be ruined.

According to imdb, her 40th birthday is coming up on Christmas Eve!! www.imdb.com/name/nm0376602/I recognized her from Bridget Jones' Diary (she's the lawyer friend with the fuckwit boyfriend who always calls Bridget from the ladies' washroom crying), but didn't realize she was that old. Not that 40 is old, mind you, but she looks soooo much younger than that. It's been a couple of weeks since I saw GoF, and I'm still cracking up at DR spitting out his drink when he tries to smile at Cho

Heh. I remember seeing her in CoS and thinking "That's Spud's girlfriend from Trainspotting! And then I understood why hanging out in the toilet wasn't such a problem for her!

Holy shit 40?! I thought at the oldest, she would be around Clemence's(Fleur) age of 23. Lucky girl, ahem, woman.

I missed that. I had gotten up to use the restroom, and when I got back, my boyfriend was laughing so hard he couldn't tell me what was so funny.
I also recognized Myrtle from BJD and was shocked to learn how old she is. She looks so incredibly young. She's perfect for this role -- that voice!

Oh no. Really? That's hilarious, but terrible. IMO, however, it couldn't get much worse than the first two movies under CC's direction. Are they planning on squeezing ALL of OotP into one movie?

I agree that you can't get much worse than Chris Columbus (why does he still have a career?), and they've made good choices with the last two directors. The guy may have some interesting ideas, and I'd like to think that Warner Brothers wouldn't risk this huge money-making franchise by hiring some dude who doesn't know what he's doing.
I'm guessing they'll squeeze OotP into one movie like they did with GoF.

I hope not. I wish they would release it in two parts: the first at Thanksgiving and the second at Christmas. They can keep so much more of the book and double their money. I'm sure they'll cram it all in one though.
