Oh, geez! They used that friggin' Titanic song. The "dialog" we get in the subtitles is the best part.

I love the books and have read each one many times over, but I found myself strangely ambivalent about this movie. I liked the more serious notes and the darker aspects. And Rafe Fiennes as Voldemort was a brilliant choice, although I'm a bit torn since he seemed so human and not malevolently evil enough as compared to the books in some way. On the other hand, he made the role his own and the personality very real, as well as less of a caricature.
That said, I was utterly peeved that they reduced the Quidditch World Cup series into such a brief thing, while (IMO) unnecessarily extending the dragon scene. But the World Cup issue was my biggest annoyance.
I also didn't think Fleur looked anything like what she was supposed to, or half as attractive as she should have been, and they didn't explain the Velda's dance at all. That aspect of things, when transcribed to the scene with the girls flouncing in, just seemed silly. The entrance of the men though was pretty damn hot.
I liked the way they handled the fight between Harry and Ron, and the unexpected humour of it all. And I probably laughed the most over the scene with Harry and Myrtle in the bathtub. Actually no, Ron's reaction to his dress robes made me literally laugh out loud.
But all that wasn't enough to compensate for the overall quality of the film, imo. It was too choppy, too long in parts, WAY too short in others, and too much canned acting from "Hermione." Althougth YAY for Neville who came out much better here than in the book.
To be fair, I think it's hard for any of these movies to live up to the books for me. We all know that books don't translate well to films, but I've read these books so many times and been so involved that I doubt ANY of the films could EVER make me happy. This one was probably better than the rest thus far, I suppose. I really did NOT like "Chamber of Secrets" as a whole, and "P. of Azkaban" has only slowly grown on me (in parts).
So far, my favorite was the first 1/3 of the initial movie in the series, the very end of Chamber of Secrets, the beginning of Azkaban (and any small scenes involving Lupin, as well as my beloved Alan Rickman), and the first beginning and end of this last one. Am I weird? Does that make any sense?
BTW, any word yet on who will play the role of Delores, the magic world's equivalent of Torquemada, mixed in with a soupçon of Ashcroft and McCarthy?

I think it's been confirmed that the wonderful Imelda Staunton will play Dolores Umbridge which is one of the reasons I'm already looking forward to the next film.

The high-definition DVD will be released on April 11...although no word on the 'regular' dvd, though.

I just read that on ONTD. She's who I pictured for the role. I love her! I'm definitely looking forward to her in the role.

I think she's perfect for Luna. Although she reminds me a bit of Lohan, but not, ya know, gross.
