In most movies derived from books...there are scenes added that aren't from the books.
Trailer is awesome. I also watched the international trailer. That was cool, too.

Well, yeah, that's to be expected. But the fact that it looks so damn weird throws me off.

Yeah. I was weirded out in seeing that too. Perhaps a little over-the-top, no?

Doesn't he end up growing some kind of fin during the second task? Maybe that was when he came out of the water?

He grows fins, gills because he eats this plant called gillyweed, *I think*
I've read the book alot and I don't remember him jumping out of the water like that. He couldn't breath air so he dove into the water, did the task and stayed under to save them. When he was swimming back, the gillyweed was starting to fade, so he lost his gills and fins and resurfaced as a normal human.

The trailer looks great. I wasn't excited at all to see this until now. I thought the teaser looked like ass.
Although I love McGonagal, and wouldn't mind if she popped up in every scene, I'm kind of confused why they would add a scene like that, which looks to be pure folderol. They had to remove a good chunk of the ending (which, IMO, is one of the best moments in the series thus far) and replaced it with that? Why?
I think the cgi looks pretty bad. The merpeople and Sirius look really horrendous.

I thought Sirius was sort of interesting-- I always sort of imagined it as a face the appears in a blazing fire rather than this weird stunted thing in the embers-- I'll have to see more of the effect in order to decide if it's ass or not. Moody's eye looks sort of cheesy though. But in all fairness, this was probably one of the more expensive in the series to make-- there's a lot happening set, cast, and effects-wise, so maybe they had to cut some corners.
That is some fug hair though. But, realistically, that's how teens are wearing it now-- my teenage cousins have the same fugly hair thing going on. Teenage boys should not be allowed to style their own hair-- when I was a teen that stupid buzzed buttom, pony tailed top under a baseball cap look was in. Seriously, all the guys thought they were hot while most girls were like, wtf?
And they cut up the ending? That sucks. It is one of the more memorable parts of the series.

Yesterday I watched the UK trailer that jynni posted right after the US one and the UK trailer is the one that got me all excited. It's darker and almost completely different and there's a lot more talking in it.
<<The Death Eaters are kind of how I pictured them. And that World Cup stadium is amazing.>>
This movie is going to be the best one so far.
I still don't understand where Durmstrang is. Is it in eastern Europe or the Nordic area? When I read the books I first thought Germany when I heard the name then since Krum is eastern European I assumed there. Then Dumbledore says our friends to the North, the only thing north of the UK is the Nordic countries and in they come on a Viking ship. It's the little details(Hermione's notblue dress) I end up hating more than having scenes cut.
The wizarding world seems to not have scissors or long hair is just the way they roll. Lucius has long hair, Dumbledore, now all the boys have stopped cutting it. I think Bill Weasley has longish hair too.
