Aw, I guess I'm in the minority on this one. I think it looks cute and clever. Straight remakes of TV shows into movies are getting to be pretty boring. Been there, done that. Adding a couple of twists sounds like a good idea to me.
And I like romcoms and Will Ferrel, so I'm there.

C'mon guys, Colbert *and* Amy Sedaris, together again for the first time?
Great potential. Actually, the more clips that I'm seeing of it, the more I like it. Plus, it seems like Will pplays a washed-up yet egotistical TV actor, which should be funny.

Weren't they going to do this movie a few years ago, but someone connected to it died, so it petered out? I just assumed they weren't doing a complete remake of Bewitched in honor of the guy who died.
ot/ Monster Zero! Land of The Dead?! Agggghhhh nightmare city! Luckily I have escaped all but a breif second of all the previews. I wish they'd stop making trailers for damn zombie movies. I feel the same way about zombies as many people do about clowns and spiders..and even spider clowns.

That is why I want to see it. Even if it seems like an Ephron cheesefest, there are some truly funny people in it - Sedaris, and practically the whole line-up from The Daily Show (Colbert, Carrell, Mo Rocca). It should be a cheesy, fun summer movie.

Lord knows I love Sedaris and Colbert, and I enjoy Will Ferrell quite often, but I hate Nicole Kidman. Regardless though, theatrical trailers are supposed to make you want to see the movie and the trailer I saw made it look painfully unfunny. I sort of want to see it for the people I like, but so far it looks like an embarassment. So I guess I'll be skipping this one. The more movies with Nicole Kidman that tank, the better.

Critic Armond White frequently goes against the critical consensus. But this time he's with the majority and he really, really hates it.

Wow, the reviews are awful. I'm going to see it and close my eyes tightly during Ferrell's nude scene (Can someone please tell him that he is the unsexy?). I will then post the review from The Ownlife Gazette on Rotten Tomatoes.

Why are we hating Nicole and wanting her to fail, now? I can't hate her just because she's wanted to make, like, two comedies in the past ten years. Is the hate because of The Stepford Wives? She herself has expressed her hate and all signs point to the director having no clue what he was doing. Which, actually, seems to be the case with Bewitched. Most of the reviews I've seen are hating on Nora Ephron (which is fine, I wrote a paper designed to show how You've Got Mail is the perfect example of why RomComs are now doomed) and the script rather than the actors. I just don't think she's the right director or writer to handle the meta of a remake-within-a-remake. I think maybe keeping the original period but going a Down with Love route may have worked better. The supporting cast is quirky enough (yay, more Michael Caine!) and I like Nicole, so I'll see it. Plus, living in LA makes me long for Hollywood satire, to the point where I watch the pathetically written Entourage every week. Perhaps a fruity pink beverage will help things along. Will Ferrell nude? Not pleasant, but pink beverage. Or I may be filled with such TomKat hate that I feel the need to throw some support NK's way. OK review in Salon -- Hate Ephron, Love NK. I dig Steph Z's continuing enthusiasm and passion for actors.
