The sound is pretty bad for me (maybe it's the laptop) so I couldn't really tell if he has an American accent for this film. But it looks pretty good and Orlando looks adorable so I'll likely see it on opening day. Moldy Tofu, it's supposed to come out in October--it got pushed back from a summer release because Paramount wanted to give it a push for the awards season.

The only thing that looked appealing to me (based on the trailer) was Orlando Bloom. Kirsten Dunst looked/sounded annoying. Also, maybe this is an unpopular movie opinion, but I usually don't like stuff that has Susan Sarandon in it. (I do like Judy Greer, though).

I don't like how Orlando says his lines. He sounds more like he's more concerned with getting his accent right than really connecting there. His voice was the worst thing about the trailer and irritated me as much as if he were taking his fingers and scratching down the chalkboard.

Oh my. I could never undertand why people can't stand the doctor. But I suffered through "Wimbledon" the other day and now I watched the Elizabethtown trailer and she plays the same character again. Then I remembered that she also played this role in Eternal Sunshine but I had totally forgotten about her since she, like Moldy said, faded into the background. But she's totally annoying in the trailer! How will I be able to watch this?? And I reallyreally want to see it since Orlando looks so adorable and I've just seen the lovely Japanese trailer and he cries and sobs and displays all sorts of emotions and doesn't even look silly while doing so!!!

Were those family members supposed to be from Elizabethtown, KY? Because I have lots of family from near there -- my mother grew up in Lebanon, still has two siblings there, one sibling in Bardstown, and another in Shepherdsville -- and I guarantee that nobody in that trailer sounds like they're from E-town. I'm not sure which would be worse -- the lack of any accent at all or hearing an incorrect accent.
I did appreciate Dunst's vocab lesson on how to pronounce Louisville. The locals do indeed call it Loo-uh-vull. The trailer managed to annoy me because it had both whirling dancing and somebody frolicking in the rain.

The trailer managed to annoy me because it had both whirling dancing and somebody frolicking in the rain. Thank you! I was just about to post that. I guess I'm in the minority but I think this movie looks like ass. It really was the whirling dancing that threw me off. I don't know, there's something about this film that rubs me the wrong way. And I'm one of the few that doesn't (or is it don't?) mind the Doctor, but I can already tell that her character in this movie will be annoying. I hated how when Orlando turned off the light she turned it back on and continued to bug him. Like, who are you? I hate people like that.

Promotion for this film is going to kick off soon. Get ready for a lot of crap stories about the lead actors.

Whatever, the movie looks great! And I don't like Kirsten but I know to distinguish her characters from who she is.

Just saw the Japanese and US trailers, and damn, Orlando! Where have you been hiding that talent all this time? Screw the period epics, I think he's found his niche. I know you can't tell much from the trailer, but he really seems to come alive in this movie. I can't wait.

Word. I read two recent test screening reviews that singled out Orlando as the weakest link of the film. One said that his accent was just so darn annoying. I'm getting worried.
Orlando seems like a nice lad offscreen. But onscreen, damn, his blandness is so, well, bland. Even his good looks could not compensate for it.
