This is Jodie's first movie in forever and even though Sean Bean is in this (Sean as a pilot!!), I've really missed Jodie.

Here's a description:

Flying at 40,000 feet in a cavernous, state-of-the-art 474 aircraft, Kyle Pratt (FOSTER) faces every mother's worst nightmare when her six year-old daughter, Julia, vanishes without a trace mid-flight from Berlin to New York. Already emotionally devastated by the unexpected death of her husband, Kyle desperately struggles to prove her sanity to the disbelieving flight crew and passengers while facing the very real possibility that she may be losing her mind. While neither Captain Rich (SEAN BEAN), nor Air Marshal Gene Carson (PETER SARSGAARD) want to doubt the bereaved widow, all evidence indicates that her daughter was never on board resulting in paranoia and doubt among the passengers and crew of the plane. Finding herself desperately alone, Kyle can only rely on her own wits to solve the mystery and save her daughter.

Yeah, but this has BEAN. Heh. I think the only difference is that Jodie's character actually designed the plane they are flying. I think.

It sounds claustrophobically cool, but doesn't the description pretty much give away the main plot twist? Is the audience supposed to wonder whether or not the daughter is really on the plane? This:

makes it sound as though she is there. Or maybe I am just jumping to conclusions. Either way, I will probably se this one in the theater.

Isn't this exactly the same movie that Julianne Moore appeared in last year, only it take place in an airplane and involves a daughter rather than a son?

Hopefully this one won't go off on a tangent and blame aliens.

According to the trailer, Foster's character is somehow involved in building the plane, probably as an engineer. And it seems that she uses her specialist's knowledge of the plane in her search-for-her-daughter/battle-with-the-bad-guy/s.

If the film is decently made, could be cool.

Sounds like The Forgotten times Panic Room divided by Executive Decision.
In other words, a typical Hollywood star vehicle.

I saw the trailer a few months ago and I can't wait to see it. Yes, it's probably a rehash of previous movies ('Panic Room', 'The Forgotten'), but I don't care. It's Jodie Foster! I have missed seeing her onscreen.

Sean Bean and Peter Sarsgaard! In the same movie!! And Sean has that pilot's uniform! I want to buy this casting director a new car or something.

Anyway, the film looks like it has some potentially serious weaknesses. But every time I think about this my brain pretty much goes "LA LA LA LA LA LA Sean Bean LA LA LALA LA Peter Sarsgaard LA LA LA!"

This looks like five other movies Jodie Foster has already made. Is this what she's going to do with the rest of her career? Because it's lame. And I already thought she was overrated and boring so movies like this don't help.

I looked at the handful of photos they have for it at Imdb and I have to ask: Has Jodie Foster begun aging in reverse? She looks younger than she did in Silence of the Lambs.

I like big, dumb thrillers, and twists that other people claim they saw coming from miles away generally blow me away. I'll probably eat this up.
