I can't wait to see this! I have nothing intelligent to add to the conversation, I'm too excited! When is it coming out? In the fall or winter, right?

Snowberry you silly girl, 59 days 6 hours, blah blah blah. September 23, 2005.
If you haven't seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory they have the trailer on before it. Well at least they do in Red Deer.

We saw it before Charlie and I was very suprised as I hadn't heard anything about it before. If no one is talking about it, is that a good or bad sign?
The kids were very excited over it, they love Nightmare Before Christmas [the little freaks] and recognised it as the same looking stuff.

We saw the trailer before Charlie as well. The theater seemed to buzz a little (in a good way) when it came on.
If this and "The Libertine" (critically - I don't expect much $$$ for that one) do well, it will be another really good year for Depp.

Gah! I am so sick and tired of hearing about JLo. I can't believe they're making a movie about her now. They're not. The name of the movie is The *Corpse* Bride, not The Skank Bride.

I've heard things about it here and there for the past year, but I just think it has gotten overshadowed with Tim Burton's other project - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Now that that one has been released and the buzz starts to die down, Burton can turn his attention to promoting Corpse Bride and we'll start to hear more about it.

Tim Burton is Jewish? If he is, I didn't know that.
I do like the design of the characters -- very Edward Gorey, without it being a Gorey ripoff. Obviously by some or most of the same team that put together The Nightmare Before Christmas. Has the studio also done work for commercials? I recall a Kleenex commercial using the same style (without the Gothic weirdness however.)

Bumping up for flamethrower and with the news that the film's gotten mostly great reviews, including one from Rolling Stone's Peter Travers calling it a front runner for next year's "Best Animated Feature" Oscar.

You know, when we left the theater last night, I liked the movie, but I wasn't quite wowed by it. My mom (who, by all accounts, is an insufferable b*tch, is a wonderful movie and music critic nevertheless) agreed.
When she called me this morning, we both had thought about it and decided we liked the film a LOT more than we had right after we saw it, if that makes any sense.
It's very dark, and just not quite what I was expecting, but I really, really liked it. I'll definitely get it on DVD.
I guess I just wasn't expecting it to be QUITE so dark, but now that I've thought about it a bit, I wasn't disappointed at all. Thumbs up.
