Oh man, I don't care what you say, I love Seth Rogen so much. It probably helped that I watched Undeclared before watching The 40-Year-Old Virgin.) I'd do him (or Cal) before I'd do Steve Carell (or Andy). And I do like Steve Carell, but Seth Rogen, eeee. But then I love pasty, pudgy (or scrawny) nerds. And it probably helps that Rogen is two years older than I am, whereas Carell is twice my age. I love Seth Rogen too- but from Freaks and Geeks. I tend to like guys on the chubby and sarcastic side. Plus he has such a sweet smile.

There are never enough reasons in the day to use those quotes. Never.

There are never enough reasons in the day to use those quotes. Never. Agreed! Last weekend the bf and I went to IHOP and every time we referred to the french toast, it was the "fuckin' freeeeench tooooast." Oh, and I love the scene with the kid in the E-Bay store who wants to buy the goldfish boots. And I love that they included him in the closing dance sequence, but it would have been even better had he been wearing the boots.

Oh god, the drunk chick with the "fuckin' freeeeench tooooast" was classic. My friends and I yell that at each other whenever we're off our faces drunk. That and "Come and see how good I look!" from Anchorman, but that's another thread.
You know what I really liked about this movie? The fact that they gave Andy a believable love interest. She was his age (hell, she was a GRANDMA---a hot grandma), she had a past, but she was still hot. And hell, the fact that they wrote a character for a sexy woman over 30 is really awesome in and of itself.

Man, I just watched this for the first time last night, put it on my laptop at about 1am and was in HYSTERICS until it finished. To the point where my laptop fell off my lap a couple of times from me going "HA!!"
I'm off to buy the DVD tomorrow, I only had the rental overnight and didnt have time to see all the deleted scenes and extras, and they few I did see made it seem obviously worth the purchase.

Yeah, that's exactly right, starskin. I figured this movie would be really mean-spirited, but it had the right amount of hilarity and sympathy, and it really endeared me to Catherine Keener. It would have been easy to pair Andy up with a little blonde thing, but they didn't (in the end). I think it was really sweet, and I too love that they gave a 45-year-old woman a "sexy" role.

Everyone has mentioned my favorite quotes from this movie. But we especially use one quote in particular. It's one we use when we go out for breakfast: "Aaaahm Hunngry. I want some fuckin' french toast." Between that and the Missy Elliot lip-syncing I was peeing my pants. That girl was hysterical, but the vomiting was more than I felt was necessary. I kind of wish that character was in the movie a bit more. I loved the whole, "And I was all, you're the bitch, bitch!" And of course "Never be named Dan. Cause Dan rhymes with man and men jerk off. And Dan was a jerk-off." Girlfriend was hysterical.

There's a deleted scene where the drunk girl shows up at the speed-dating thing. She clearly doesn't remember anything that happened that night, and Andy starts talking about "Dan." I don't remember what happened specifically, since I haven't seen it in awhile, but the deleted scenes are definitely worth checking out.

Hee hee.
