I got advance screening tickets to see SEG. I loved it! It's not nearly as stupid as the premise sounds. I'm totally buying the DVD when it comes out.

Even though the preview look really stupid, I've heard good things about it. Hmmm... I agree that Uma looks pretty fug.

I've seen her in person...her skin looked better, she was glowing...not that I think she's gorgeous, but I think this is a case of an overzealous makeup artist with a new spray-on foundation gun. They made her look awful in all the movie stills I've seen.

One of the only people who knows how to really shoot Uma is Quentin Tarantino. He makes her look so badass - not necessarily pretty - but just so awesome and gorgeous. She has unusual, strong features that need to be handled in a certain way and not many directors can get the best out of her looks-wise.
I think she looks pretty bad in some of the scenes from MSExG but I also think she is supposed to look mousy and nondescript in some scenes, especially when she is dressed up as Jenny. When she is all done up as G Girl, she looks pretty good (for Uma), imo.

I got to see SEG and yeah I'ts much better than the trailers, I'm getting the DVd when it comes out. I wish they had more Eddie Izzard who was pretty good and cute wore a suit's and a polka dotted shirt like he did in "Ocean's 12" and Rain Wilson was great as the buddy and Luke is bland. Anna Farris was o.k and my fav Uma part as the under appreciated herione in the resturant scene. and here is an Eddie site www.professorbedlam.com/

I remember when "The Truth about Cats and Dogs" was out and the reviewer made a comment about meeting both Uma and Janeanne G. in person. He totally thought Janeanne was by far the prettier. I've haven't considered Uma 'drop dead gorgeous' ever since.
Anyway, topic? the box office for this film sucks. Looks like its definitely a flop. Too bad.

Everyone in the movie looks bad, baggy eyed. The effects were pretty meh, and it just seemed so I don't know, joyless?
Luke Wilson especially seemed unhappy, not as bad as Alex and Emma, he seemed suicidal in that.
In my world I'd like to think maybe working with Eddie Izzard would be, fun?

Dumbest ending ever though we could see it coming from the beginning.
Moral of the story - if you wanna get your pissed off ex off your case she will easily be distracted by some other guy - find some other dude to take the girl off your hands - she will instantly fall in love with this random guy you present her with the way she instantly fell in love with you when you stumbled across her - she will then slash his tyres sometime in future when he dogs her out the way you dogged her out.
The Luke Wilson character was such a dickhead and an asshole. Only he gets legitimised for his acting the dog because he is only following the advice of his assholish friend. I mean it's not like it was his idea directly to mess with this girl and cut her loose knowing fully he was never really available because he was in love with someone else and was just biding time till the inconvenient boyfriend was out of the way.
The relationship between the Luke Wilson character and the woman "friend" from work was really annoying. And yeah if my boyfriend had a workfriend he "liked" like that I would have some questions as to when exactly he is planning on chucking me to be with her? When her boyfriend/husband is gotten rid of? When he or she move work places and they are no longer "collegues" so are free to get it on without worrying about it spilli ng in work?
And they became super-power girl pals just like that. The crazy ex tried to kill you. The slimy "just friends" work collegue didn't have any problem meddling in her buddy's love life and talking trash about his girlfriend. Why would these women want to see each other again even afterwards?
Oh and another moral to the story - when a guy really, really loves you he spends years plotting and scheming against you and trying to hurt you and making himself your enemy. Because that's true love!
Puh-leeze.
Othe moral to the story - beautiful, powerful, popular women who seem to have it all are nutcases because they don't have enough guys with the guts or the opportunity to approach them. Lack of male attention that makes the woman crave ANY man who approaches her and she instantly falls in love and becomes obsessed with any man who dares to talk to her.
I know it was a comedy and wasn't meant to be deep and probably meant to be stupid but I wasn't laughing.
ETA: Luke Wilson's abs were all flab. Yuck.
