I assume they announced that Harry is going because Harry is the king’s son, and he’d like to see his father. Seems pretty reasonable to me!
I used to spend a lot of time in the Royal forums here until every single topic on the BRF found a way to hate on and make comments about H&M. But I guess I was wrong to assume I could come into this forum without the haterade starting up. Good lord.

Yeah, I have no issue with releasing info that Harry is planning to visit. I've seen reports about how William is keeping in touch with his dad. (Duh, of course he is.) And if it wasn't announced, people would be on Harry for not going.
And I'm no Harry fan.

Ugh, f*** Cancer!!!
I hope Charles's doctors have caught it early enough and that it's treatable. You've got nothing if you don't have your health. Even for kings.

Agreed, it was a very short and measured statement, confirming he knows and will be traveling to see him. I’m not a huge fan of Harry but he didn’t make it about him at all. If he didn’t release a statement people would be accusing him of being cold and uncaring.

Of course Harry wants to see his Dad, no problem with that at all but I gave Harry and Meghan the benefit of the doubt for years and they ALWAYS found a way via their own words and actions to sink lower and make anything all about them (they're still going on about Meghan not being invited to the Queen's deathbed via Scobie) so I don't give them the benefit of the doubt before they've proved themselves anymore.
Againno problemwith him going or the brief announcement but I really hope everything else is private.

Senior royals are being spread pretty thin with Charles scaling back and Kate out for several months. That leaves Camilla, William, Anne, Edward, and Sophie. Edward has also been looking much thinner lately and took two weeks off after a recent international trip. I hope that doesn't mean he is also having health issues.

Harry (and Meghan, of course) is already being blamed for Charles's cancer. He is damned if he didn't indicate he was planning to visit and damned if he did.

So do you think Charles will tell Harry what kind of cancer he has and how bad it might be? Prognosis, etc.? I wonder how the BRF is feeling knowing that Harry holds nothing private when it comes to Charles, Kate and William?

I think they announced it to get ahead of the press. It would have leaked anyway that Harry was going to be there.
Harry is still Charles’ son. For a majority of Harry’s life, they had what seemed like a good relationship and it’s only been in the last few years it’s been complicated. Charles may never have been the perfect husband or dad, but I have never doubted that he loves Harry and would most likely do anything to mend this relationship. To be honest, if Harry doesn’t visit him, he’d be painted as an awful son. If he does visit him, he’s still painted as an awful son. I’m not sure what people want him to do. He obviously found out about his dad’s illness which tells me it was important to Charles that Harry knew and that’s enough. If Charles wants him there (which I’m assuming he does because why make the effort to tell him), and Harry wants to be there, he should be there.
William must be going through so many emotions right now - from his grandmother dying, to Kate having surgery, and now his father having cancer. Not knowing how ill Charles really is, William probably thought he had at least 5 years to go before he became King and now he could be King sooner rather than later, and his not even teenage son will be next in line.
I hope for the best for Charles. Having grown up in the Charles and Diana era with a mom who was obsessed with the two, it would be weird to have Charles not be around anymore. My siblings and I would sometimes joke around that they were Uncle Charles and Aunt Diana. If and when he passes away, it would feel like I lost a distant relative that I know everything about, but never met.

I wonder how the BRF is feeling knowing that Harry holds nothing private when it comes to Charles, Kate and William? Stay tuned to Omid Scobie's Twitter/X to find out. This is what I keep thinking about. The Queen's long reign was very unusual, but both she and Philip lived into their 90s. Hopefully Charles responds well to his treatment and the cancer is eliminated.
