Hahaha. The Duke's mother was friends with Diana so that tracks. Also she's from a very snooty family and probably look down on Camilla as being lower-born since they're descended from Russian royalty.

I love this because it is so something my grandmother or great-aunts would do. When I was growing up we would go out to my uncle's farm for coffee and donuts after church and the old folks would sit around and bitch about something that happened 20 years ago. Royals: they're just like us!

The red portrait of Charles has been vandalized

A group called Animal Rising shared a video of campaigners pasting a picture of a character called Wallace, from the “Wallace and Gromit” comedy series, over the king's head.

The so-called ‘’comic redecoration″ was designed to highlight an investigation that Animal Rising said found widespread violation of animal husbandry rules at farms approved by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

A speech bubble next to the head of Wallace read: “No cheese, Gromit. Look at all this cruelty on RSPCA farms!”

The painting is protected by a sheet of plastic and wasn’t damaged, according to the Philip Mould Gallery, where it is on display.

Usually I am not a fan of defacing works of art as a manner of protesting, but this one is amusing. Since the painting wasn't damaged, I don't feel as guilty for chuckling.

When I first heard about that I assumed it was the Just Stop Oil people, since they've vandalized art in the name of protest before. I guess other activist groups are taking a page from their books.

I don’t think it’s funny at all myself. First, Charles is a huge organic, best farming practices etc kind of guy. Second, it just encourages people who view this as a legitimate form of protest. And the next time, the painting or whatever might be permanently damaged.

Now these same type of assholes have attacked Stonehenge. This is ridiculous. Is it winning anyone to their cause? It gets attention but little to no support.

I think this is an example of a lot of protests these days being more about promoting self-importance than a cause.
