Kate, while incredibly striking and charismatic, she's "short" (about 5'7"). Her daughter looks like she's maybe 5'4", so I think her height would limit her as well.
I also don't know where those 16 years went, because I thought she was 10 years old max.

I feel like a total hater in this thread. I never understood Kate Moss's career, and her daughter's expression looks like her modeling directive is "you're unhappy with the grade your professor gave you--tell him your dad pays his salary and your car is better than his."

If you're a hater, I'm a monster, because most of the thin, alien looking white models of the past 20 years have baffled me with their success. Kate Moss has decent cheek bones, dead eyes, and she was too short, and was dangerously thin, aka "heroin chic". I guess as long as the important people say something is beautiful, the rest of the world has to go along with it.

The daughter is pretty. Kate herself is looking her age (as she should), and more than a little rough. I think the partying of her youthful days is catching up to her.
I hope the daughter doesn't pursue modeling. She's still growing and needs to eat properly.

I grew to understand Kate's career. Even though she's short for a model, she's beautifully proportioned, so she always made the clothes look good. I think Time Magazine once determined scientifically that she has the ideal hip-to-waist ratio and the ideal facial symmetry that triggers men (and people in general) to find someone attractive. She had great presence on the runway and a very smooth and unobtrusive walk.
She could pull off very dramatic looks. Sarah Jessica Parker once said when she would be sent a rack of sample clothes from runways, she would immediately look for the one that was tagged with Kate Moss's name because she knew it would be the showstopper. She is very uninhibited in front of the camera. And in real life, she socialized with all of the coolest celebrities in the UK, and she had a great talent for putting together her own outfits, so it was always interesting to see which party she was at and what she was wearing. She was the total package.
I'll make the controversial assertion that she was never actually that thin. The media made a big thing out of it because she wasn't a curvy swimsuit-style model like Cindy Crawford or Christie Brinkley. She did usher in the era of thinness, but models went on to become way skinnier than she ever was. Kaia Gerber looks eating disordered. Kate just looked like a naturally scrawny person. And as she aged, she got a paunch and her thighs grew and she doesn't seem to care one bit, which I appreciate.

I’m with you, Ginger. I’ve always thought Kate had such a great sense of style and presence. And her thinness at the time is nothing compared to the unnatural onslaught of face and lip fillers, fake asses, and general plastic surgeried and altered weirdness that passes for beauty in today’s fashion and modeling world (thank you, Kardashians and Instagram).

I guess that’s what I don’t understand about modeling—it’s one to naturally look a certain way, but I don’t get the claims about how she had a great sense of style. At the risk of sounding dull and parochial, isn’t her job to wear looks curated by other people, from hair to garments, and even evoke a certain asked-for posture? How much of a modeling career is the model’s intentional choices and how much is the work imposed by other people?

Isn't she the one who said there's nothing that tastes as good as being thin feels? That probably played a hand in how the media played off of her body.
I appreciate her more* looking back on the 90s. I sure didn't think she was anything special back then.
eta more, but still not that much

Methinks years of being dressed by designers rubs off and you dress by sort habit so to speak so style by accident almost Or you rebel and go goth, grunge, hippy, thrift store mix and it’s called unique and really not rebelling at all Or you are Helena Bonham Carter who could not give a shit and looks fab while doing so.
Topic I was convinced we were told Kate had it, I never saw it whatever it was. I liked Yasmin le Bon and Christy Turlington best.
