Yuck! In the left hand pic she looks like how Jocelyn Wildenstein wanted to be.
Without doubt KM photographs well in styled shoots (so far), but in candids she's becoming increasingly harsh and pinched-looking. The end of her model career isn't too far off. I don't think she has the charisma or intelligence to branch off into another line or work, or the personality to attract a wealthy, stable man and settle down. I can see her publishing a ghost-written memoir down the line, but that's all. I'm truly interested to see what's going to become of her.

I always thought her appeal was that she reminded guys of the girl in high school who, if you got her sloppy drunk, she'd fuck you.

I think even in Kate's heyday a significant percentage of people would never have classified her as the world's "most beautiful woman".

What a stupid poll, anyhow.

I think even in Kate's heyday a significant percentage of people would never have classified her as the world's "most beautiful woman". I agree. In a strange way (for a supermodel) she was never really lauded as an amazing beauty. Of course, she's recognised as attractive (more by some than others) but I always thought the fashion world loved her more for ability to wear clothes and style great outfits, her love of couture and how easy-going she is to work with. She's more of a fashionista's model than John Q. Public's choice of model - that latter mantle would probably go to someone like Cindy Crawford or Heidi Klum or Tyra Banks. Anyhoo, I think she looks great in those latest pics. So what if she's getting older? She still has amazing cheekbones!

Ack! I never thought of that, chiqui. What an insult! I have no idea how much money Pete Doherty has left, but he's definitely not stable. As for intelligence, no. I agree with that, Ginger. I've never thought she was beautiful at all, just that she is - or was - very photogenic. As chiqui said, she's looking harsh.

Her face should be a clear indication of the damage caused by drinking and drug use. She use to be beautiful.

I always blame Kate for the explosion of fugly supermodels.
Kate may have her appeal (I personally don't see it), but once she came on the scene in the early 90s, it gave agencies and photogs the idea that us regular folk were dying to see homely and freakish models staring back at us from the cover of Vogue, etc. Thus Kate birthed the careers of Stella Tennant, Kristen McMenamy, Alec Wek and many others.
I think that's eventually what led to magazines featuring actors and singers on their covers instead of models, I know I lost interest in buying fashion magazines for several years in the 90s because I would so often look at a cover and think, "Good grief, even I'm prettier than she is!" Of course, my perspective may be skewed, my first introduction to the fashion industry was in the mid 80s, when there were gorgeous models like Paulina Porizkova, Renee Simonsen and Cindy Crawford getting covers.

Though I think Alec Wek is genuinely beautiful in a unique, refereshing way. McMenamy was/is kind of cool looking but I'm with you a 100% on Stella Tennant. I'm fine with models not being traditionally gorgeous but they at least have to be interesting to look at. (Then again I can't stand the crop of blondes that dominated the 70's and 80's, but that's for another thread.) Kate's taken some absolutely gorgeous photos and is striking looking, even now. But she definitely needs to ditch Pete Doherty. Dude looks like a scary fetus with only half the wisdom.
