highondegrassi There were kids younger than 12 there, which surprised me a little. But there are some parts that might not be appropriate. A few bad words, innuendo that 12-year-olds might not get. Amanda does pull up her shirt and her brother drops his pants to show gender but you see nothing.

That doesn't sound too bad. In JOOTG there was a long shot of the girl's bare breasts and lots of sex talk, which was the main thing I was worried about.

I saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it. Amanda Bynes was funny as a guy. It did kinda fall apart at the end, imo.

I love Amanda Bynes, but I thought this would be absolutely horrible. I'm pleasantly surprised that it doesn't appear to be. I can't really blame the producers for ripping off Twelfth Night. It's hardly a new idea.

I saw this and I have to admit that I, er, kinda sorta laughed a lot. Of course, it does involve huge suspension of disbelief (I mean, I'm *terrible* with recognizing faces and physical features, but even I would have been able to tell the twins apart), but Bynes really does have a flair for physical comedy.
At the showing I went to tonight, there was this lone middle-aged guy laughing his head off. Of course, I was alone as well, but there was just something off about someone that age (who's a guy...I thought the movie's geared towards girls?) going to see this particular movie alone. I thought that the group of girls in front of me would be the loudest at the theater, but this guy trumped them. Seriously, he was laughing like a total hyena. After. Every. Single. Joke.

My kids really want to see this. Based on what I've read here, I guess I'll take them instead of making my poor, awesomely patient dad take them. (Dude! He NEVER complains, even when I made him take the two younger kids to Curious George! The man truly is a saint. ;D)
Anyway, on The Amanda Show, I absolutely LOVE her crazy fan character, Amanda Please! Soooo fricking funny. If Amanda Bynes can just avoid the bobblehead syndrome that affects all of the young actresses these days, I think she'll have a wonderful career as a comedic actress. So far, I love her as someone my kids love who I can feel comfortable about. Then again, Hillary Duff and Lindsay Lohan totally snuck in under my radar, so I reserve the right to ban her from my childrens' sight if she gets WAY too skinny or turns into a ho.

Something I've been curious about... When I first started seeing the trailer there's a scene where she (in guy mode) is hit in the crotch with a soccer ball. She hesitates for a split second like she's trying to figure out how a guy should react. Then she grabs her crotch and wails, "Oh! Dear God!" which, of course, is the last thing a guy would yell. I thought it was the single funny moment in the trailer. Anyhow, lately in the trailer when that part is shown, she just screams loudly. They didn't have her wailing, "Oh! Dear God!" For those who saw the movie, how is the scene actually played?
I was curious that the one bit that made me smile a little suddenly was gone from the trailer.
