Met her on the street in Capri in a bikini-top, it wasn´t flattering at all! She should definitely have covered up, especially in the street! She was taller than I had expected.

And it certainly doesn't help she's got two big basketballs strapped to her chest, posing as melons.

Did anyone watch her on GMA this morning? I thought she sounded good. There were some problems with her mic during It's Like That, but overall it was a good performance.

I thought it was pretty good, except she had way too many dancers in the back. And the outfit was a bit much for a GMA performance.

I started reading the article in Essense magazine but had to put it down because of my dog harrassing me. I'm starting to understand the MOST MISUNDERSTOOD BLACK WOMAN thing.
Will continue reading it sometime tonite.

Oh no, I missed the GMA performance! I didn't care for the Essence interview, too little Mariah and too much input from a cousin and Da Brat (who the hell cares what they think?) I have to wonder if Mariah was unwilling to give a full interview and the story had to be padded or if that nonsense was what Essence intended. The sidebar "I'm Misunderstood Too!" story wasn't necessary. I'm off to buy TEoM.
ETA-I've been listening to TEoM in the car tonight and I really like the song with Snoop; actually, all of the songs are good, no clunkers at all. I love the way the entire CD sounds like a live performance instead of a studio recording.

Bought TEOM today and I actually like it. I'll need a few more listens, but for the most part, I think Mariah may have a hit here. Depends on whether she lets the music speak for itself or feels the need to walk around in public wearing outfits the size of dental floss. Not that this is different from any other day, but there was that article about her stylist trying to get her to wear more clothes of late. My prayers are with her. (The stylist, not Mariah)

Re: Essence article
I started reading it but had to put it down when everyone (Da Brat, Jermaine Dupri, etc.) started testifyin' to how "ghetto" Mariah is as if having a black father isn't enough to prove her negritude. Cause nothing says black like ghetto. That whole hip-hop "rhetoric of ghetto" shit gets on my fucking nerves. Like that top-heavy heifer on girlsfriends said, "some black folks are country" dammit and if ghetto is the new black I may actually be in danger of having my card snatched at any minute! /end of tirade
So, the album is worth listening to huh?

Yes it is! Don't let the past bad albums fool you, this is a good one.
