A little OT but I recently read an excerpt from the autobiography of Sadie Frost (Jude Law's ex-wife) and she left out EVERYTHING interesting. No mention of the threesomes with other celebrities, no discussion about their baby overdosing on Ecstasy. She discreetly says she met Kate Moss when Jonny Lee Miller brought her around in 1997. Jonny Lee Miller dated Kate Moss while still married to Angelina Jolie when she was young and crazy and I don't get any gossip about any of those three people? Come on!!
It's like she thought I wanted to read a whole book about her feelings.
Fortunately, I think Mariah likes to name names.

I hope she drags Jlo and Mottola to the pits of hell and back. At least throw some expert shade.

According to Variety, she will be doing the audio version. For her 2014 album, Mariah recorded a special message regarding the meaning of the album's title, complete with overdubs, reverbs, and random giggling. It was a campy mess, but very Mariah, which is what I'm hoping the audio version of this book will be.

He was so beautiful in The Talented Mr. Ripley. When he left Sadie and took up with Sienna Miller, then got caught with the nanny, I lost interest. In addition to all the Tommy Mottola stuff, I want to know what happened with Eminem. And she was engaged to some rich Australian guy - who was that again? And Glitter! We need the all the tea, Mariah.

I don’t even remember that album or album cover. According to Variety, she will be doing the audio version. In my opinion, Mariah's been hit or miss since The Emancipation of Mimi album, but the Elusive Chanteuse album from 2014 was pretty decent. It flopped though because she injured her shoulder while filming the remix to the "Beautiful" song and stopped promoting it. Her marriage to Nick Cannon broke up around that time as well, and it was apparent from her public appearances that she wasn't doing well. (She's always been very campy, but she was bringing bottles of wine to her radio interviews and getting sloshed on a regular basis during that era, and it wasn't a good look.) Her last album, 2018's Caution album, was really good though. She'll probably never have a Top 10 single again (outside of Christmas,) but I give her credit for making the music she wants to make, and not just hopping on trends for attention. I do wish "GTFO" had been a minor hit, though. Such a fun song!

Sorry to bump this thread, but a friend recently sent me a link to the interview Mariah Carey did with Genius back in 2018. If anyone else needs a break from the news (like I do,) and wants to learn more about Mariah's creative/songwriting process, it's definitely worth checking out. To paraphrase someone in the first few pages of this thread, it does feel like there's such a dichotomy between the "Rainbows and Unicorns"-Mariah and the business-like and professional Mariah who (occasionally) shows up in interviews like this. There are some pop stars where I often wonder about how much involvement they really have when it comes to writing and producing their music, but not Mariah. I love that she can recite the lyrics for random B sides she produced 20 years ago off the top of her head. (Also, FYI, if you're a fan of old school Mariah, she's been digging through the archives during quarantine to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her debut. She just posted a bunch of outtakes from Daydream on YouTube.)
