I’ve only seen this movie once, but I loved the soundtrack so much I went and bought it like, the next day. Thom Yorke, Placebo, Pulp … it’s fantastic. I can listen it to it over and over again.

I like this movie a lot, but Christian Bale looks terrible in that glam mullet wig and the make-up. Indeed-he looked like a muppet. He looked hotter in the later day scenes. I think his character was kind of supposed to be a dorky kid who got into the scene. At least, that's how he seemed, when he was dancing in the club (like a spaz). Ewan looked so much like Kurt Cobain in the blond wig it was scary. And when he's writhing around on stage during "Gimme Danger" oooooooh. Christian and Ewan must have an agreement because whenever someone asks about their rooftop sex scene, they end it with, "Christian/Ewan never writes to me anymore, he never calls me-it's very upsetting-damn him!" Both of them have said that in various interviews. Heh.

I could have done with a closer camera angle. Indeed! Especially since I still have an old 19" TV. Couldn't see a darn thing! ;D

Oh, word on the soundtrack love. I've owned it for about three years and it's still fabulous.
I have to say, though, I do not get the Christian Bale love at all. He looks soooo creepy, even in this movie. The scene where he gets caught wanking is just creepy for me because I dislike him so much. I want it to be hot, but no.

When I heard that Elijah Wood was going to play Iggy Pop in a new film, I nearly cried, since Ewan did such a fantastic job at the Stooges' song "T.V. Eye."

I must share my very favorite thing about this movie ever---the thing that has inspired so many steamy hot fantasies... I read an interview with Todd Haynes (and Ewan, if I recall correctly) where he said that Ewan and Christian continued the rooftop scene...after the shooting was finished. Apparently, it went on for awhile...if you know what i mean, and I think you do. Whoa--makes me feel funny just writing about it...

Well, Haynes thought it would be funny to let them keep going without telling them that they had called cut, so I don't necessarily think that Ewan and Christian were caught up in the moment (I think they caught on that the crew and the director were having a joke on them when they overheard giggling), but whatever floats your boat!

HEE! Yes, it does float my boat--but I absolutely know they weren't "caught in the act"--but that rather, the crew had all wrapped up, and the actors were left there, continuing the scene, IIRC? I also remember that it wasn't just a few minutes. The great thing was that in this article, neither actor seemed uncomfortable with the experience...love them!

That's the best part of the movie imo. The music is just so awsome, but I didn't care much for the storyline or the guys getting it on together.I admit that I only watched it once though. That's what I kept thinking all the time! I think the blonde wig is maybe my favorite Ewan look so far.

I could have sworn there was a thread for this movie already. I guess it got lost in the accidental purge a while back.
I have such love for this movie. The gorgeous Toni Collette; the fantastic "Baby's on Fire" montage; and of course, the most amazing kiss ever captured on film.
