Will anyone be seeing this? They're running ads non-stop. The big deal is the 6-6-6 release date.
It's been a long time since I've seen the original one, but I recall it was pretty creepy. And the name Damian has been forever ruined by it.

I saw the trailer on E! and was so disappointed. I love the original and along with The Exorcist it is one of my fav horror movies ever. The remake is missing something, it just doesn't have the same creepy vibe as the first one did.
Julia Stiles is no Lee Remick that's for sure and the kid isn't anywhere as close to being disturbing like the original Damien.

I assumed they cast that smarmy little kid from Godsend and Birth but that would have been too obvious casting even for Hollywood.

Deaths on the set? I think it looks interesting, but as I said to my husband, wouldn't they feel like assholes if Satan really did rise on that day.

The kid is too normal looking and cute to be creepy. I don't see this being as creepy as the original.
I do get a kick out of the fact that the original Damian has a bit part as reporter # 3.
I think I will wait for this to come on HBO or one of those channels. Definitely not worth me going to the theater for.

Wow! The original Damien has a cameo in this new one! That's so cool. Because I heard somewhere that the first Omen was his one and only film ever. I might see this just to see how he ended up looking.
The trailers have been relentless. And the part where Julia Stiles has just "given birth" and says, "He's so perfect..." I just know that will get a big laugh in the theatres. Sort of like in The Shining where at the beginning the mother says, on the way to the Hotel, "We're going to have a good time!" People laughed.

Yeah, I agree. And that's where I think they got it wrong. I heard the director of the original say that how they got the last shot was by yelling, "Now, don't you laugh!" or something at the kid, so he's really controlling a potential burst of laughter with some skill, trying to be serious. The kid in the new trailer is doing the "Grrrr! I'm E-Vil!" face, and it ruins it.

Just watched the trailers and clips on Yahoo. Maybe I should put this in Pet Peeves but I hate that the link says, "Don't Let Them Kill Me," when the actress so clearly says, "don't let HIM kill me."
I'll probably go see this movie cuz I like shit like this. I mean, I saw the newest Exorcist film, after all. Might as well see this one.
