Yes and no. Yes there was a rumor about Colin and Spacey since Spacey "discovered" him while he was in a play. But the movie was "Ordinary Decent Criminal" (Cute movie btw) Tigerland had nothing to do with Spacey.

Spacey did help him get his first agent, and that led to the role in Tigerland. And Kevin Spacey doesn't seem like the kind of guy who does nice things for free.

The incident happened on Friday in Montevideo, where Colin and crew where shooting scenes for Miami Vice, which seems to be the most interminable film shoot ever!

According to our source, Farrell was rushed to the emergency room and treated by doctors for an overdose, a potentially deadly combo of cocaine, marijuana and "another drug," which the docs were unable to determine by the blood test.
