I mean the math is still REALLY bad here but I feel like it was even worse in my head before I read that.

I can't believe any article has the nerve to say she's rarely dated, like I said, I don't follow her but even I remember the guy from How I Met Your Mother and then a variety of others.

I think that after Heath died, she rarely dated for quite some time. It's more in the last 3 years that she's had this sudden resurgence of dating, engaged, married, divorced, engaged nonsense.

I think a lot of people have also forgotten that she and Heath weren't together anymore by the time he died. I don't think she should be shamed for being in relationships nonstop, other celebs do the same. But I do have to wonder what bringing in three different men within two years or so does to a her teenage daughter. Not counting the other guys Michelle dated before her recent marriages/engagements.

I remember she got some heat for dating Spike Jonze very shortly after Heath's death and I didn't think that was fair. It lasted about a year, they were living together and he was playing daddy to Matilda, and then it was over. I thought, well they don't all work out. That's life. But she's repeated that same pattern pretty much every year since.
I know a lot of single parents have the rule that they don't introduce a significant other to their children until they know it's serious. The problem with Michelle is that all of her relationships seem to be immediately serious.
Everybody thought Katie Holmes's relationship with Jamie Foxx was weird, but I think compartmentalizing her relationship and keeping it separate from her kid's life was the best thing to do for Suri. When they broke up, I don't think Suri's life was disrupted.

If someone wants to casually date, they should do what makes them happy. But she gets into these serious relationships and we are supposed to forget the "true loves" ever existed. I wonder if her daughter is expected to forget about them as well.

I remember being sort of sad that it didn’t work out with Spike. I thought they were very good together.

I do think the kid changes things. Nothing at all wrong with dating a different guy every year, live your life. But when your kid has lost her father and is being introduced to new men that could potentially be her new stepfather year after year, that can’t be helpful.
