Something tells me their willingness to do what was clearly a pre-arranged photo opportunity similar to the one they did when they went public with their adulterous romance has less to do with the baby and more to do with Michelle having a new movie out and an Oscar to campaign for. There's Michelle with her wholesome family, aren't they sweet? The Fabelmans, in theaters this Thanksgiving!
I'm glad she's got a nice family, but I remain unable to stand her as an actress. And the Oscar prognosticators are saying she has a good shot at the Oscar this year, which means awards season is going to be pretty hard to take.

Yeah, very obviously an arranged shoot. She continues to confuse me, as she wildly swings from super-secretive about her personal life to things like this.
The Fabelmans is high on my list of must-sees, I'll say that--pap walk or no pap walk!

Her red carpet looks are always interesting.
I can't believe Matilda is 17.

The fact that she's doing a Spielberg movie that is a semi-auto biographical movie about him and she could possibly win an Oscar makes me think of the connection to her role on Dawson's Creek. Jen Lindley in a Spielberg film!
I try to separate her from her roles. I'll just enjoy her craft and hope that she does at least get recognized by the Academy this time around. She's had a good assortment of roles that deserved at least one and she is a good actress that has been very good with the roles she's chosen.

Somehow I missed the fact that Michelle was married oh-so-briefly to the talented and strange Phil Elverum. Much of Elverum's work is about grief, including long songs about missing his first wife, who died of cancer at a young age. I guess Williams and Elverum were just sad together?

Michelle was pretty much guaranteed an Oscar, if she went for Best Supporting Actress for The Fabelmans. But switching up to a very crowded Best Actress race has cut out that front runner status. And Supporting Actress is wide open right now.
And Spielberg, surprisingly, has only directed 3 people to an Academy Award: Mark Rylance for Bridge of Spies, Ariana De Bose for West Side Story, and Abraham Lincoln using a nom de plume as Daniel Day-Lewis for Lincoln. 11 others weren't so lucky.
Whoopi Goldberg Margaret Avery Oprah Winfrey Ralph Fiennes Liam Neeson Anthony Hopkins Tom Hanks Chrisopher Walken Tommy Lee Jones Sally Field Meryl Streep
Not a bad list to be in!

I'm mostly neutral on her because I haven't seen a ton of her stuff, but I thought she was great in Brokeback Mountain, she made me very sad and sympathetic.

Watching her interview on Stephen Colbert last night did make me smile a bit when she said that the one person that really encouraged and saw the talent in her was...Mary Beth Peil, Grams on Dawson's Creek. LOVE THIS. I know how much the fans (myself, included!) all loved Grams and this was very touching.
