Could be. I think she's always imagined that she would get a happily ever after with another baby and a marriage. She has been acting in the past few years like someone panicked about the door closing.

I don't find Busy to be arrogant, but I also don't follow her on instagram. I find her to be very loud and not someone I can tolerate in anything other than extremely small doses. I used to follow her, but stopped because she is EXHAUSTING. Cries over everything, everything is a crisis, etc etc etc. Back to Michelle, I think whoever noted the GGs are next week and she's probably showing so they wanted to get ahead of that is spot on. Yikes, she is messy.

People Magazine is known for strongarming celebrities: you can cooperate with us and put your own spin on the story, or we will write the story without you and you won't be happy. Katie Couric said openly that they did this to her.
I think Michelle and Gollum posed for the paparazzi photo and fed People an exclusive, with that rubbish about how her daughter "played matchmaker" (barf). In return, People completely left their existing spouses out of the story, as well as all of the other sketchy details about how and when they got together.

I just feel sorry for Matilda. I can't imagine putting my kids through this sort of shit. Also, does anyone remember her being engaged to someone else just before she suddenly married the last husband? She's crazy and this isn't going to last.

Yep: linkI find the part in the People write-up about Matilda playing matchmaker particularly unseemly.

She is a serial dater. Stays with them for about a year. Before Phil she was with an artist (?) named Andrew Yeoman. She also dated Jonathan Safran Foer and Cary Fukinaga the director. She seems like the type of person who can’t stand to be single.
I’m really grossed out by the article saying her daughter “played matchmaker.” She’s encouraging her mom to cheat on her stepdad? However it played out, leave the kid’s name out of it.

Andrew Youmans was some type of investment banker, not an artist. Which shows how all over the map she is with her choices. They were photographed spending Christmas with Matilda in some tropical locale, Michelle was wearing an engagement ring, and it was reported but not confirmed that they were engaged. 6 months later, she was married to someone else. Since 2009, she's dated or married: Spike Jonze, Cary Fukunaga, Dustin Yellin, Jason Segal, Jonathan Safran Foer, Andrew Youmans, Phil Elverum and now Thomas Kail. And all of these guys have been photographed spending significant time with Matilda and caring for her like a parent. Several of them were live-ins. So basically, Matilda lost her father and then once a year for the past 10 years, a new serious boyfriend/husband has come into her life and then departed. That can't be healthy for her. I’m really grossed out by the article saying her daughter “played matchmaker.” She’s encouraging her mom to cheat on her stepdad? However it played out, leave the kid’s name out of it. Ditto.

I don't follow her at all, but when I saw this I looked up her last husband and I feel so bad for him. His wife died of cancer soon after their daughter was born, and he had a gofundme set up to help pay for expenses and baby stuff. This is not a man that comes from a ton of money or fame, and his daughter is now maybe three? How does it feel for her to lose a mother and a sister at that age? Assuming Michelle acted as a mother to her and Matilda a sister. That's such a vulnerable age, old enough to understand loss, too young to understand dynamics of adults. At some point in ones life you do need to occasionally put the needs of others ahead of your own, Michelle should have reached this point long ago, say 13 years ago to be exact.

All these articles you guys are linking to keep mentioning how private she is about her relationships. Someone on her PR team needs to look up the word "private".
The last link mentioned that she has rarely dated since Heath died. Seems like it would be healthier to date around a bit then jump from one "serious" relationship to another with a daughter in tow. Again, she needs to rethink her PR strategy.

I'll give Michelle credit for keeping Matilda away from the paps. I was curious about what she looks like now (since she's always been the spitting image of her father) and I look around there are not a lot. The most recent pic I found was from this past May. Looking at the pic--in which it's obvious Matilda has hit puberty--I wonder what it's like to have curves and boobs when her mom is really famous for being a waif. I hope Michelle can protect Matilda from feeling like she has to starve herself down to Hollywood norms. Frances Bean Cobain was a normal looking adolescent but then got really skinny in her later teens, so I can only imagine what kind of pressure there is for the daughter of a deceased male idol. ** That Mail article says Matilda was 12 but I did the math and she would have been 5 months away from turning 14. I wonder if it was just sloppy fact checking or if they were trying to emphasize the young-girl-in-a-woman's-body angle. Since they're pretty gross all around, I would think they were being deliberate about it.
