It's funny, the show has really made me dislike her. Addicted to approval, yeah that's nice and tidy. It's a nice clean addiction to have, and Sarah appears to be bragging up a storm about having it. That and constantly digging up her dead mother to show how it all happened. Is she in contact with her siblings? I'd be pissed to see mom brought up so many times as the cold villain. Even if it's true, let the woman lie in peace now. She had a horrible death.

The "addicted to approval" stuff probably gives her an excuse for all the mistakes she's made.

Ok, if she's so addicted to approval, shouldn't she be better at earning approval, especially by her age?

That may be a reason, but it is never an excuse. Has anyone heard of Byron Katie? She's a lovely life coach whom Oprah has actually used in the past. If Oprah really wanted to help Sarah and hold her accountable for her actions, she would have sent her to Byron instead of Dr. Phil. There would be none of this "I'm an approval addict" crap. BTW-- Byron is the founder of "The Work" which asks 4 basic questions. These are: Is it (your thought) true? How do you know it's absolutely true? Who would you be without this thought? And Can you turn that thought around?

Fergie is just rehashing the same excuses she's been using since 1996. It's all there: how she sabotages herself, how her mother left her and Andrew was always too busy for her, how she's insecure. And no legitimate excuse as to why she couldn't live on $500,000 per year spending money . All the stuff she claims to be learning about herself on the show are things she claimed to have learned about herself in 1996, so why didn't she change a damn thing about her life? If I were Oprah and this woman were continually coming to me with the same bs I'd smack her.

Sorry guys, I was being heavily sarcastic--I guess it didn't come across. We need a little smiley for dripping sarcasm...

I think it's more like Sarah's addicted to attention. Of any kind. Lord knows, she's tried every way she can think of to get it. It's like a little kid who wants attention. even a spanking is better than being ignored, so they will whine, hang on Mom, complain about everything, hit little brother, anything to get attention.
