When this story broke a few weeks ago, I thought Fergie had been invited because Beatrice had finally gotten engaged to her longtime boyfriend and the Queen wanted the family together to decide on when the engagement would be announced and check everyone's calendar to choose a wedding date.
So in other words, the invitation wasn't Fergie's sake, but to make things more pleasant for Beatrice who may have wanted her mother there when these issues were discussed. But since there hasn't been any sign of Beatrice's boyfriend, Dave, at Balmoral I might be wrong.
Still, maybe they know an engagement is bound to happen sooner or later, and it's time to be more conciliatory to Fergie, since she will be present for her daughters' weddings and future grandchildren's' christenings.

I bet they've been sleeping together all along. Her pool of willing men has dried up, and Andrew is just creepy enough to probable be down to hookers. And poor Sarah is such a doormatty character. I think Andrew sends her out to drunkenly do his dirty business deals, and she's glad to do it while keeping this image in her head of them still being a family. What a fairy tale.

I think they'd have stayed together if there hadn't been such a public uproar and Andrew's parents hadn't been so angry.

I've seen it rumoured a few times that Andrew is into the dudes. Could explain how he and Fergie managed to have such an amicable divorce/co-habitation.

I always thought they truly loved each other. I know Sarah gets a lot of hate but I always kind of liker her. idk

Andrew's had his share of embarrassing behavior free and clear of Sarah. Vanity Fair speculated a few years ago that when Charles assumes the throne, Andrew's income will be slashed, if not altogether removed, from the Civil List. |

I was always under the impression that as embarrassing as she is/was he always loved her. That's always been my impression too. That said...I doubt they'll remarry. JMO, Andrew & Fergie are probably taking a page from the Modern Monarchy. The Middletons are widely believed to use their royal connection for their benefit and they are still included in events. So why continue to shun or hide away Fergie? And like angelaudie said, Charles has Camilla. The Middletons haven't been caught on tape trying to sell access to the royal family. Nor have they given intimate interviews about family members. |

It is rumoured that Charles is already trying to cut Beatrice & Eugenie from the List, something Andrew is fighting tooth & nail. Charles is definitely trying to adopt a scheme that is in place in some other constitutional monarchies, where only the essential Royals* receive an annual income from the government. Everyone else will have to earn their own income, though most still get some due to private funds etc. *The monarch & spouse, the heir & spouse and their children. |

Even though Andrew paid off Fergie's debts a couple of years ago (with Mommy's money) I really, really don't see him wanting to be legally tied to her. Not only would she have access to his money, but he'd also be legally responsible for the debts she is no doubt running up as we speak. And then the next embarassing/illegal thing she does is going to be even more of a scandal because she'll officially be a member of the royal family again. I can believe they are back together, but I don't believe they will remarry.
