Diana had done some pretty shitty things over the years to Fergie, so I'm surprised Fergie herself was even speaking to Diana at all. Once when Diana wanted to deflect some heat and bad press she was getting, she tipped off the paps that Fergie was off with one of her then-lovers, and the paps honed right in and got some un-Duchessly photos of Fergie. Unforgivable.

Were those the toe photos? Ouch.

Part of the story I heard was that Diana really encouraged Andrew's relationship with Sarah in the early days. She liked that Sarah wasn't stuffy and she thought that she'd get a young female ally in the family. But, then Fergie became really popular, almost eclipsing Diana for a moment there and that's when the animosity set in. I guess they probably became frenemies, for want of a better term. Bound together sharing a unique experience but also resenting and undermining each other whenever they could - and Diana was more underhanded than Sarah. Sarah seems a little, well, dumb.

Dumb as HELL. And greedy. You can see her on the GreedyGate video making a "gimme, gimme" gesture with her hand, indicating that the undercover reporter should hand over the briefcase of money before she even starts talking. It could have been construed as a goofy gesture, but the look on her face was so starkly money-grubbing that the whole thing was just beyond vulgar. I had rather liked her, too, and had developed some respect for her drive to improve her life. This is a nauseating thing, a debaucle, and she deserves the bad press. She'd HAD money that she had honestly earned. She blew it being an idiot.

Andrew Morton said that Fergie is the all-time winner of the "I'm a royal, give me everything for free!" contest. He said that they all do it, of course, but no one is more obnoxious about it than Sarah.

What are her daughters up to these days?

They're both at university. Princess Beatrice is studying history at the University of London, and will graduate next year. Eugenie is studying art history, English lit and politics at Newcastle.

Beatrice also had a small, non-speaking role in The Young Victoria. I'll have to watch it again and keep my eye out for her.

Eugenie, the youngest, is studying English Lit at Newcastle University. Beatrice, the oldest, is studing Art History at a university in London, she's the one with dyslexia. Beatrice also ran the London Marathon for charity with a group from Virgin, I guess her boyfriend works there.

I read that the friendship went south when Sarah wrote that she got warts from wearing Diana's cast off shoes.

Perhaps the Universe is finally pulling the rug out from under "aristocrat" Fergie. Heaven help us if she plants her greedy butt in the US, she will be on the television all the time. Another drip, drip, drip from TMZ and the entertainment shows.
