He suffered for so long; I'm glad he's at peace finally.

A thread on Richard. Oh no you didn't!
I'm sorry y'all, but I'm not going to believe he's dead until I see it in black 'n white in ALL the reliable sources. Last year on the FT Forums someone started a Richard Pryor thread annoucing that a news source had just announce him dead and it all turned out to be untrue.
A "Richard Pryor just died" rumor seems to surface once a year every year. It like the boy who cried wolf...I need more evidence to accept it.
Plus I just love him so much I would probably want to remain in denial anyway. I know he was probably really miserable with his MS for the past few years despite putting on a brave face. But still I would rather know he's still around. Because he's a pure genius.

In Vibe a couple years ago, after his health was bad, he said he would not change a single thing in his. He lived it the way he wanted and even the bad times he would not erase. Goodbye Richard. May you rest in peace.

Mr. Divasahm was just watching E!'s best SNL moments, and we stopped to take in the Richard Pryor/Chevy Chase "Word Association" sketch. One of the funniest things I have ever seen--we've seen it dozens of times and we were still howling when we changed the channel and caught the breaking news on CNN. What a coincidence.
Mr. Pryor was an incredible talent who never received his due as an actor and comedian. The world will miss him, but his painful struggle is now over. RIP.

Sad, so sad. I remember listening to his album on tape when I was a teenager.
