I got an Amazon gift certificate for my b-day and I think I'm going to cave and finally buy the Indy box set on DVD, since they will apparently never release the movies individually. Maybe I can use Temple of Crap Doom as coaster. some sort of Seniors Power thing. Ha. Now I'm picturing Indy, in full khakis-bullwhip-fedora regalia, leading a group of militant seniors with their walkers. OT, I think proper stranger and katyzz should always post back to back. Having those Christian Bale pictures one after the other was... yeah... is it hot in here or is it just me? katyzz and moi...just doing our bit for Board Beautifcation! ;D

Temple of Doom may be regarded as a bad Indy movie (I fully disagree...I love Temple of Doom just as much as the others) but you have to admit it's still a billion percent better than a lot of other movies out there today. I am so on the fence. I'm reluctant about it because it's been so long, yet still totally psyched.

Temple of Doom was my favorite Indiana Jones movie, probably because it was the campiest without pretensions of lost religious artifacts and WWII politics.
I mean, what's not to love? You get a self-absorbed nightclub singer, Indian mystics, hearts torn out and MONKEY BRAINS!
If the new Indiana Jones movie could be that campy instead of all serious and paying homage, then I'll be the first one in line to buy a ticket.

Looks like one of the extras on the new movie was a very naughty boy and spilled a few of the plot points. The dude actually crossed Spielberg and blabbed. Needless to say, we probably won't ever see him in another movie again.

If you just look at Temple of Doom as a fairy tale instead of, like, straight historical fiction, it works MUCH better!

He must feel like such an idiot right now. I love the 1st & 3rd Indiana Jones movies, but I'm just not feeling any anticipatory excitement about The Crystal Skull at all. I'll definitely see it, but I think I need to see an exciting trailer before I really look forward to doing so.

Wasn't the teaser trailer supposed to be released on Thanksgiving?

You can see a few pics of the cast here. The link also contains a link to the Vanity Fair site with more of the article (I can't get there from my work computer for some reason). Cate Blanchett looks completely awesome. I'm really looking forward to this one.

Squee! It looks like it'll be a blast to watch. Cate looks awesome as the villain.
