I was blown away at how much I loved this movie. I don't have the crazy devotion to the original series that so many diehard Trek fans do, mostly because I don't like the Shat/Kirk and I think the show is now terribly dated. Kudos to Pine for doing what Shatner never could - he made me like Kirk. I've always loved Spock so I was a little concerned about Quinto, but I thought he absolutely stole the move with a complex, riviting performance. The rest of the cast was wonderful as well. I hope in the sequel we get a lot more yummy Bones.

I'm going to see it again tomorrow...for the 5th time! I think I need to join a Star Trek Anonymous group or something. I haven't geeked out over a movie like this since Star Wars in 1977 when I had that same giddy "Wow, I can't believe I've seen something this awesome" feeling when walking out of the theatre. The Matrix came close but there wasn't this overwhelming feeling of happiness. Does this make sense?

I'm already planning on seeing it again with one of my friends. Huge kudos to JJ for making a highly entertaining film that plays homage to the original, but thankfully follows its own path. Other than Nemoy's appearance (which I loved) I hope we never see anybody else from the original show, or from any Trek show. Imagine Shatner wearing the world's most powerful man-girdle chewing up the scenery in some lame attempt to compete with Pine.

I just got back from seeing it again. It was just as good the second time. They really need to hurry up with that sequel. I read that Chris Pine is dating Audrina "Roof Eyes" Partridge from The Hills. If that's true, that'll just kill the love. This hurts me. He shouldn't be wasting his sexy on that dead eyed skank. I find Chris Pine hotter than the sun, but he really strikes my gaydar.

(BoroKat, I just LOVE the line in your avatar! Did you think of that? Awesomeness.) I wish I could take credit for it, but I swiped it from that ONTD link.

Yet another list of what the sequel should and should not do. I agree with most of the list. But JJ and company if you read the list ignore the #3. Don't create a Spock/Uhura/Kirk love triangle. It was pretty annoying in X-Men and it would pretty annoying in Star Trek. If you want Kirk to have a love interest fine but create a new one. Plus, how can Spock and Kirk form a solid friendship if they are both lusting after the same woman? Kirk lusting after Uhura is fine...cuz she's a woman and he's Kirk. But I agree, no love triangle! The Uhura/Spock stuff was hot and touching, and I don't believe for a second that she'd go for Kirk or that Spock would participate in a love triangle. I want Sulu and Chekhov to have more to do in the sequel. I think Spock totally stole the movie away from Kirk.

Damn, that was a good movie! I loved every bit of it.
I agree that Spock stole the movie. Although, I always did think that Spock was a more interesting character than Kirk.

I felt that way when I saw Star Wars and when I saw Fellowship of the Ring. It felt good to feel that way again.

Uhura would never go there, and anyway, I don't want to see Kirk violate the bro code. Barney's rules always apply, even in space. Bros before Hoes. My sister took her 10 year old son to see this and she said he's been doing the vulcan salute every morning when he gets on the school bus. Aww. This movie's creating a new generation of nerds, y'all.
