YES!!! That trailer rocked. What was the Khan shoutout?
ETA: Ok, we just watched the Japanese one--I got the shoutout. Whoa.

It is the very end of the Japanese trailer where Chris Pine is holding his hand up to a hand on the other side of the glass- I assume Spock is on the other side, just like at the very end of Wrath of Khan when Original!Spock sacrifices himself to save the ship.
The Wrath of Khan is one of my all-time favorite movies. It started my love of all things Star Trek (except Enterprise, that show sucked). My friends and I used to call each other's answering machines and yell, "Khhhhaaaaaannnnnnnn!!!" /dorks

Last night, I introduced MissP to Star Trek. "The Tholian Web" was on MeTV last night, and during a commercial, I described "City on the Edge of Forever" to her, and she said, "I wanna watch THAT one next!"
So I broke out the box set, and we watched that too, it was late, so she conked out right before they found McCoy, but I was stupid pleased with myself....

The Wrath of Khan spooked me as a kid (the earworms gave me nightmares and inexplicably, made me scared to walk under trees) so I've only seen it once, and "Khaaan!" is the only pop culture reference I remember.

Seriously! I Netflixed Khan the other night since I haven't seen it since I was a little kid and I had to leave the room at the ear worm part.

Ahhh, so excited! I graduate from college the same month this comes out and my father and I were just saying that we're not sure which event is more thrilling.

Wow, that's way cool! I read a couple of expanded universe books that featured Robert April (and his cardigan sweaters). It's interesting that he's been repeatedly mined as an inspiration for a number of other characters. Flove the trailer, I so can't wait to see this in the theater!
