I feel bad for her. To change your face to where you are virtually unrecognizable... I feel that many Hwood actresses go under the knife to "enhance" their looks or make their face look "younger," but not to completely change their face entirely. I don't know how many of you have seen the TV show Hung, but I thought she was Horny Patty from the show, not Renee Zellweger, Oscar-winner. For those of you who are saying she doesn't look very different from her "before" pictures, all I can say is: really? This article also encapsulates my feelings on this: Why Renée Zellweger's Face Matters

I can buy that the BI is true (though I hope the bit about the boyfriend isn't true).
She's always seemed a bit fragile and the puffy face, poor skin and hair condition she had for several years pointed to bad nutrition/too much exercise/possible self-medicating with booze. It always amazed me that her hair and skin looked so bad when she had access to the best hair/makeup/skin people in Hollywood and always made me think something was wrong. I actually thought she looked great with the Bridget Jones weight - she looked healthier. Probably because she had to eat and lay off the exercise.
And remember when she married Kenny Chesney out of the blue and then had it annulled a few months later? That was weird.
If she had the issues in the BI, I'm glad they are under enough control that she can step out in public again. I do wish though that she hadn't released that statement to people. The comments like the ones I'm making don't really deserve a response from her. And just... no. People know the statement is false. You may be relaxed and that's great, but you also got your eyelids done. If you don't want to 'fess up to it, don't say anything at all. This won't make people back off - ask Nicole Kidman how people reacted when she stated in an interview that her face was 100% natural.

Maybe the BI was from the Bradley Cooper era. He has a rep for being a jerk with girlfriends. I hope Renee's current bf is treating her right.

If that BI is her, then she has more courage than I ever will. To sit through a talk show feeling all anxious, I would have given up the first time I had to be that public.

For those of you who are saying she doesn't look very different from her "before" pictures, all I can say is: really? OMG, that's Doris from Looking and YES Renee totally looks like her now. Renee probably could have used a bestie like Doris to tell her not to fuck up her face (or at least hire a decent surgeon). This is reminding me of way back when Jennifer Grey had that massive nose job and no one recognized her anymore. I doubt this is going to help Renee's career. She doesn't even look like herself. It would be like starting over as an unknown.

She has such a distinctive voice though.

All this coverage in the media, it just reminder about how much looks plays into a career of an actress, many of them don't have much time. What a crappy business to be in when you think of it. For someone like Jeremy Renner, his career started at nearly 40.

Yes, I can't blame Jessica Chastain at all for lying about her age when she first came on the scene or all the other actresses who shave a few years off. I also hope that she continues to be A-List and gets all those nominations and awards not only because I love her as an actress, but I also hope to see more actresses be able to become A List at a later age.

Brit actresses seem able to go on and on if they stay in Britain. The whole aging thing seems to be a very Hollywood problem. Renee might have to go to TV. I'm not a fan of hers at all, BTW, but she's one of the most versatile of what I consider a somewhat weak generation of actresses.
