I've come into casual contact with her, and she's always been very sweet. And a friend recently got into an elevator and heard a voice behind her cooing over her baby. She turned around and saw RZ. They chatted the whole elevator ride, and RZ couldn't have been sweeter.

Even if she is nice that whole squinting thing just makes her look mean. You figure someone would have said not to do that early one. And yeah, the weight loss and gain. It leaves her looking more haggard and frizzled.

That said, I did like her in Chicago. She was skinny and gangly and awkward looking in comparison to CZJ's sensual, smooth curves which seemed to be the point. And I do give her credit for doing the dancing and singing herself when she admits that she is not a dancer or singer. Of course, she would have gotten more points if she had performed at the Oscars.

I absolutely love the BJD movies, and I love that Renee seems to genuinely love her dog, but I was always on the fence about her. That is, until, today.

PageSixSixSix has a great interview with Kathy Griffin and she talks about Renee having a sense of humor about herself:

Kathy: I've gotten really great ink. People magazine did a whole column where they quoted my questions. And it's been really fun. And then, after the Oscars, RENEE ZELLWEGER sent me the biggest bouquet of flowers I've ever seen in my life this past week, which I really appreciated. I may have made a joke about her that she's the lost OLSEN triplet because she's so skinny. I just love shit like that [When celebrities like Renee have a sense of humor and get it]. I must have told 75 people that I got flowers from Renee Zellweger.

I think that's pretty awesome on the part of Renee.

I almost forgot, that when she was dating Jack White, she went to our local nice mall (I live in the Detroit area) and was reportedly very, very nice and gracious to the salespeople.

From what I've read (nope, never met her or come close), she has lovely manners. I enjoy her movies and respect her for baring herself in them (in some of those movies, like Bridget Jones, she is not wearing makeup because she becomes all red and blotchy when she becomes emotional. Plus, I just know with her complexion that she has Roscea).

All this niceness just makes the rumors about her cocaine use more disturbing.

Offscreen, Renee seems like a nice person. Nevertheless, she's still chipmunk face to me.

I hate her "look I gained 20 pounds to be be fat!" when this makes her look normal for the Bridget Jones movies.

I thought her figure looked great in the first Bridget Jones (haven't seen the second), and it pissed me off to no end that she was supposed to be 'fat'. Only in Hollywood, friends.

I'm just glad she's done with the black hair, it made her look literally dead. I will admit to thinking her squinchy eye thing is cute. The lip pursing and mincing thing, not so much.

I agree with those who pointed out that her weight fluctuations have ruined her skin. She's gaunt and haggard. I wonder how much longer she'll have a career. I can't picture her aging well.

I hope she goes for major botox and surgical upkeep, and keeps us entertained awhile, anyway.
