Cool! I just saw it and I spotted him, it was awesome. Is his family visible or are they just in the background? No idea, as I don't know how his family looks like I know what his wife and his daughter look like, I'm not too sure about his sons.

Hopefully, he'll talk about it on his show Monday.

I think he has a cute redheaded daughter, doesn't he? His kids have made a couple of appearances in comedy bits on the show.

Well, I just saw this. Maybe it's because I went in with extremely low expectations, but I liked it a lot better than the first one. It was much better paced, had less gross humor and was overall just more fun. The chase down the river was a really inspired action sequence. I even liked the addition of Tauriel, even though the love triangle was stupid. Possibly my favorite part was Lee Pace just deciding to wholeheartedly ham the fuck out of his role.
Downsides: Super long and, while Ian McKellan was great, I was bored to tears by Gandalf's storyline near the end.

Just saw it and really liked it, except it was a bit too long, especially the scenes with Bilbo telling Smaug how awesome he is. Loved the river chase scene, by far the best in the movie.

I liked it a lot better than the first one. Much better action scenes, but ugh...that romance blossoming between Kili and Tauriel? Made my eyes roll so far back into my head I was seeing last year. I could have done without it.

Please tell me the third is coming out in May. Funniest part was when the movie went dark at the end and all the groans and nooooos when we realized it was over and would have to wait for the final film sometime next year.

Alas another whole year for pt 3. Though initially they had that one planned to come out in the summer, but probably due to the success so far they have gone back to the yearly December release.

Generally loved it, and I agree the fight scene on the river was fantastic and the CGI team did an outstanding job with Smaug, but I thought some of the pacing was slow and it felt obvious they were trying to come up with stuff to fill time with to justify it being a trilogy.

Just came back from seeing it, and the whole group,I was with loved it. And one is a dedicated lover of the book, but he just accepted this a movie that happens to be based on these characters, not a retelling of the book.
The wine barrels in the river was an awesome sequence, and I always think, when seeing these types of action sequences, that it would make a fantastic theme park ride.
Orcs are terrible fighters, seriously. They don't care about being injured or even surviving, so they should be able to take down one, albeit agile and skilful, elf. Not that I want them to, but really.
Also, it occurred to me that if that much gold suddenly entered the economy all at once, it would be worthless. Gold is valuable because it's rare (or is held back to seem rare).
Those almost three hours just flew by to me, nothing seemed draggy.
