Third, this is the ultimate "Don't you know who I am?" situation. Birth names are for peasants and losers, he's Joss Whedon, damnit, the brilliant creative mind that brought you Buffy, Angel, the worst Avengers movie, and ruined the Justice League! "Why do I need to show you my birth certificate, just look at my name engraved on this Emmy! Obviously that should suffice!" LOL! I'm now picturing an Emmy or Oscar as the ultimate proof of ID. Flying abroad, buying alcohol...all you need is your Emmy! Maybe they can stick a little passport photo under the base?

Up until 9/11 it was easy-peasy to change your name without going through the legal channels. I changed the spelling of my middle name when I was 18 and renewed my driver's license. I know kids from age 30 on down who switched to their step-father's name just by being enrolled in school under that name. My niece was supposed to be named Rachelle but my then brother-in-law filled out the form with Rachel. She has always gone by Rachelle in all her legal documents but when she got her last driver's license she had to produce a birth certificate, which says Rachel, so that's what her driver's license says.

I’m enjoying the Schadenfreude that not only does Jared Leto have to live with the fact that he was a terrible Joker, (allegedly) tried to stop the stand-alone Joker movie without him, not invited back for other movies ( Birds of Prey, The Suicide Squad), the Joker movie with Joaquin Phoenix grossed over a billion dollars worldwide, Leto’s Joker portrayal being sandwiched in between two Oscar-winning (Heath Ledger, R.I.P., and Phoenix) Joker portrayals, he won a Worst Supporting Actor Razzie for House of Gucci this year, his recent film Morbius is a critical flop, and his Met Gala appearance this year was stupid with the “twin”. He, his weird band/cult, (alleged) penchant for underage girls, and his pathetic excuses for “method“ acting can suck rotten eggs.

OK, I don't smoke, and the last few posts regarding Leto and Morgan and Murdoch make me want to have a post orgasm cigarette.

I've been told variations between birth certificate and actual names being used pretty common. I did it myself. My mom gave me one name which I hate with the fire of a thousand suns. About 30 years ago I picked up a nickname which I love. Someone told me all I had to do to make a legal name was add it to a legal document. I was a 20 year old and it made sense. So, the next time I renewed my license I just said, "Hey can I add my middle name to my license?" and just like that my nickname became my middle name. Eventually I stopped using my full first name and now everything is "First initial, Middle Name, Last name". It's on everything from DL, taxes, student loans, bank account and lease agreements. I've never had any issues with it. I'm not sure that would fly in post 9/11 days, but it wasn't any issue in '90.

I wish it was that simple here. Batboy changed his last name legally BUT it's only a provincial name change. We still need to change it Federally AND he was born in another province from where he changed his name so we need to first get a new birth certificate from that other province before we can apply for the change federally. And because Batboy still struggles with mental health, he has not been on the ball at all about this. It's been months now.

I would laugh at the irony but this is bad. He looks to be a repeat offender. Ugh.
