... when you have to go on a business trip without your laptop for three days, and it turns out the hotel room has WiFi but now without a computer you're shit out of luck.
So you stare at the blinking light on the WiFi box off and on for three days, imagining all the posts you are missing... then you get home and find out the boards had their first ever extended down time, and you're guiltily happy that you didn't miss anything at all.

Word, ane, word. The MJ verdict would be meaningless if I couldn't check to see what posters here had to say about it.

Oh, can I play?
...when you break your laptop. Like, physically break it -- snapping the screen by bending it too far back. Become distraught, go through withdrawal symptoms, etc.
Then today you find an computer - S-video to composite video converter in an old box of cables. You rejoice, hook the laptop up to your TV and come here before checking email or working on your job resume.

When you partially wonder if you are one of the people to blame for the Michael Jackson thread meltdown because you kept uploading and posting as the verdict droped. And are proud that in less than 24 hours it is already above 15 pages.

And proud that in your anger you suggest a boycott and you can already think of at least ten more names thanks to the board. FUBAR ban, everybody!

I was at work yesterday when the Jackson verdict came in and my first thought was, "they not only find him not guilty they just had to do it while I was at work, didn't they? I'll be up all night reading the MJ thread."
I still haven't read the first 11 pages, though. It's too depressing.

When you're at a new job, it's part-time, and you still check here so you don't miss anything.

The fact that you're waiting for your doctor to draw tons of blood is ignored because CPMoG is mentioned in a mag (Tatler, maybe?) in the waiting room. I almost stole it just for a memento.
If you come into money, you'd donate for T-Shirts.

....when seeing that someone has died, you wonder if the Death Pool thread was updated. Then, being happy that you get to post it first. I think I'm going to hell for the last part.
