It'd be awful and cruel of me, but Michelle Trachtenberg (along with Jamie "Angelina's brother" Haven) lives in my friend's apartment building and it's taking a lot of willpower not to send over some nachos bell grande to the front desk.

I'm gonna guess either "Lost" or one of the CSI's. Did the fan sell his/her children in order to be able to afford real estate in that neighborhood?

Well, that didn't narrow it down too much!

The only story I've heard that even approximates this one is some soap star from many years ago who ended up quitting her show because of some crazed stalker. No, I don't remember her name, sorry. But I'm guessing Dwanollah's story is much more recent.

Suffice to say, a fan of an actor on a popular cult-like TV show managed to buy a house next door to him and then claimed it was just "coincidence" and all that stuff, and all the crazy, stalkery stuff she'd been posting about him on some message board for the show was just a big misunderstanding.... And then she got very possessive of him and started accusing other fans of stuff and so on. And eventually she ended up with a restraining order from the actor, blamed the people on the web site, and went on a tire-slashing spree... including one of my friends.

I refuse to give out more info than that, though, because frankly, my friend was scared shitless by this crap. And again, based on the weirdness I've seen in Durannie fandoms, various LotR fandoms, and even 90210 fandoms, you can't underestimate how and why someone's going to flip out over something. I've seen, experienced, and been on the receiving end of some weird-ass shit, and all it takes sometimes is one Google.com search to kick things off....

Hey, I heard something along these lines in one fandom. Did the actor's name have the initials BS? If I'm right it's a older TV series that has a few spin offs (not CSI) and the BS actor was in one of the spin offs.

That would be Andrea Evans, who played Tina on One Life To Live. She's now on Passions playing Rebecca Hotchkiss Crane.

Evans left the show abruptly in 1990 and dropped out of public view for many years. It was only much later when she revealed that she had to escape from a stalker who had been following her around and had gone as far as breaking into the ABC studios in New York City, intent on killing her. Before she left OLTL, the stalker incident had been played down heavily in the press, so the public at large did not know what was wrong.
