Celebs You Didn't Know Were Multiracial

This was one of my fave threads on the old FT board-the thread didn't have that title-but it got shut down for fear of flaming. It was really good because we found out that Alex Kingston may be biracial.

Anyhoo, is it really true that Cher is part-Native American and for the love of God, can anyone really tell me if Prince is biracial?

Was anyone else shocked when they found out Wentworth Miller was biracial?

What exactly is Vin Diesel's background. We were watching him on Letterman the other night and my husband said "I didn't know he was white" I said " I didn't know he was black" We looked at each other and said "What is he?"

He is half-white and half black. I think his dad may be black.

What I find interesting is how some celebs are and aren't claimed-like Derek Jeter doesn't seem to be claimed by us black folks, but Tiger is. I also don't think a lot of black people embrace Vin, but they do with Halle.

Cher's not Native American. She's Armenian.

veronicamars, I always thought Prince was biracial but, apparently, both his parents are black (well, according to a biography of him I read anyway).

And Cher is definitely Armenian. I have no idea about the Native American thing but to be honest I think she's just mainly plastic now anyway.

Jessica Alba is half Mexican and half European, but for whatever reason, I always think of her as black. Don't ask me why. It's odd, because I don't think she is claimed by the Latino community at large and it seems that her managers have really made sure that she isn't seen as Latino and hasn't taken projects that cater to a Latino audience.

I don't think Latinos seem to claim Rosario Dawson, either, although she has been on the cover of Latina mag.

It might be fairly common knowledge now, but I don't think anyone knew around the time of Flashdance that Jennifer Beals is biracial. I could be wrong about that, though.

Well I knew if I was sitting on a toilet when I found out that Joanna Kerns(mom on Growing Pains) was half-Mexican, I would have fallen in. Yes, for some reason, I was that shocked.

Also Katherine something,(the original Daisy Duke) is also half-Mexican. Apparantly, or so my parents tell me, that she would regularly attend the Cinco De Mayo parade in LA.

I always suspected that Alex Kingston was bi-racial. As for Cher, I thought she was half-Armenian and half-Native American. Or so I heard on Vh1.

There was never any proof of this on the other place. I believe someone asserted it and and then a bunch of people thought about her features and her hair and agreed. Then the board was closed.

I have no comment other than I am not convinced.
