It's pretty obvious that Johnny Depp is part Native-American.

I just saw Croupier last night and I could see the Alex Kingston thing.

I read an article about celebs people speculate are part-black and Tom Hanks and Jennifer Beals were on it. Jennifer Beals seems so obvious now but at the time of Flashdance it wasn't mentioned.

Zach Slater (aka Mark Paul whatever) is half-Indonesian. I was totally shocked by that.

The article was in Utne Reader and was cribbed from some smaller magazine. It was pure speculation that Tom Hanks is part black. I don't think he has one black parent or anything like that. Probably some small percentage. Yeah, it surprised me too.

I'm pretty sure that people knew Jennifer Biels was multiracial when FLASHDANCE was in theaters. She mentioned it or someone did in an interview.

I remember that Jennifer's heritage came out when Flashdance was in theaters and that she didn't really seem overjoyed when it was known.

There are alot of half hispanic actresses with Anglo last names. I heard somewhere that Wonderwoman (Linda Carter) was half hispanic. So is Linda Rondstadt (sp?), but y'all probably knew that.

Ava Gardner was rumored to have black ancestry and I think she even said so herself. Of course, considering where she grew up it could be Melungeon ancestry.

But don't Melungeons themselves also have black ancestry? I have ALWAYs thought Ava had black ancestry. It would cool as hell if she did.

Some Melungeon sites say that and others claim Mediterranean descent. It's all very mysterious and fire-side story-y.
