If Jada is mixed, then so are the overwhelming majority of Black Americans (especially those from the South), many of whom have caucasian ancestry somewhere back in the tree, not to mention Native American ancestry.

I think the question is what is multiracial? Is a black person multi racial if they had a great-great-great grandparent who was white? Is a white person multi racial if they had a great-great-great grandparent who was black? I'm curious.

Is a white person multi racial if they had a great-great-great grandparent who was black? I'm curious. Good question. What constitutes multiracial? Tiger Woods meets my definition of multiracial, with a black father and Thai mother. JPS, with a Creole mom and black dad, does not, because Creole is not a race. But that's just my definition and others obviously have different ideas on that.

Funny aside: in the UK (and reportedly some other parts of Europe though I've never seen it with my own eyes) the list on college applications and the like includes two seperate white races: regular old white and "white Irish". A lot of makeup and other beauty products are avaialble in white and "celtic" skin variations and beauty magazines include it in those match-your-skin-tone articles too. Which is cool, don't get me wrong- especially the makeup!
So technically Mischa Barton and a whole slew of other celebrities now qualify for this thread, at least in Europe!

Did anyone find a link to Vin Diesel and his twin? I remember one from the old board and remember him resembling Vin in Find Me Guilty. Or am I hallucinating this?

A Creole is a person who has MIXED heritage, meaning you will pass whatever mixed ancestryin your bloodline down to your children. So Beyonce qualifies.
The lightskin Blacks ARE mixed. That's what I've been trying to tell you. It's much more recent.
I don't have ANY of that in my background so where does that leave me, huh?

With his almond shaped eyes and small build, does John Legend look Asian to anyone else? Any idea on his background?

A Creole is a person who has MIXED heritage, meaning you will pass whatever mixed ancestryin your bloodline down to your children. So Beyonce qualifies. Neither JPS or Beyonce are mixed in MY definition. They call themselves Black, so I'm content to call them Black, too. And until either of them comes out with the "I'm mixed" interview, I'm not changing that opinion. completely, wildly OTUnder your definition, every single person with any Creole ancestry at all is multiracial -- and as someone of Creole, African American, Causasian, and Native American ancestry and has a family that could double as the rainbow coalition, I can safely say that your definition is not shared by me. That's fine. We don't have to agree on this. You have your opinion on what makes someone mixed. I have mine. They don't have to line up. And dark-skinned Blacks can't be mixed? I have dark-skinned Blacks in both sides of my family tree. They have the same African American, Creole and Native American ancestry I have -- both of my grandmothers' brothers are dark-skinned Blacks, but they look completely different from some of my other family members, including my grandmothers. Skin tone is not an accurate reflection of ethnic makeup.

LOL! I going to choose to ingore a certain poster, if others would follow suit, we can make it happen.
Re: John Legend
I saw some of his family, his mother, aunt, and etc. on Oprah. His mother is definately black, a few shades darker than he is, and she is a bit bigger than Oprah, not at all petite, a la John.
