Good for her! I had no idea but I don't watch her channel usually. She's had a great year in terms of personal triumphs. And I like the way she mentioned her gf: that's how I was raised, I knew so and so (female relative) had a girlfriend rather than a boyfriend but nothing else was said of it, so I just started asking the same questions as I would of anyone's SO: "Is she nice? Is she cute?" There was absolutely no negativity surrounding it, and I was mortified when I learned the greater US/global community had issue with it.

I had no idea about her personal life either, but then again...it shouldn't of mattered.

I'm really happy that she's been able to overcome her medical struggles and is able to show her thankfulness to her partner. Good for you, Robin!

I'm glad Robin is in a loving relationship and I hope she is physically healthy but what makes me happy is how much this was a non-story. I'd like to think a lot of people don't care either way about her sexuality and that they like her on GMA.

NFL prospect comes out. He was the SEC Defensive Player of the Year; it'll be interesting to see which team drafts him.

Not a fan of Mizzou usually (Jayhawk gal here) but I have to give major props to Michael Sam and the team on how this was handled!

I will be so sad if his draft selection drops drastically because of this.

Anonymous NFL exec/coach reactions to Michael Sam coming out:

"I don't think football is ready for [an openly gay player] just yet," said an NFL player personnel assistant. "In the coming decade or two, it's going to be acceptable, but at this point in time it's still a man's-man game. To call somebody a [gay slur] is still so commonplace. It'd chemically imbalance an NFL locker room and meeting room."

All the NFL personnel members interviewed believed that Sam's announcement will cause him to drop in the draft. He was projected between the third and seventh rounds prior to the announcement. The question is: How far will he fall?

Sam's announcement did not come as a surprise to most NFL teams. Sam's sexual orientation was considered an open secret in his college town of Columbia, Mo., and the assistant personnel man said he believed "90 percent of teams" were already aware that Sam was gay and had dropped him on their draft boards. He estimated that of the 32 NFL franchises, only two or three didn't know prior to Sunday night's news. He projected that it will impact Sam's draft status "quite a bit."

"There are guys in locker rooms that maturity-wise cannot handle it or deal with the thought of that," the assistant coach said. "There's nothing more sensitive than the heartbeat of the locker room. If you knowingly bring someone in there with that sexual orientation, how are the other guys going to deal with it? It's going to be a big distraction. That's the reality. It shouldn't be, but it will be."

Sad, disgusted, angry, amazed, and just flat out astonished that these grown adults cannot do their jobs with a homosexual teammate. You are an elite athlete. You should be past the point that someone's sexual orientation affects you. Because guess what, neanderthals, this isn't the first time you have been in a locker room with a gay man. This is just the first time that you have been in the locker room with an openly gay man. Nothing is different.

I hope that Sam's career is not over before it started. I really feel for him.
