I don't even want to know what constitutes mild vs. moderate vs. severe violence toward a woman during sex. Max sounds like a real gentleman; way to let that mid-life crisis slip away from you, gramps.

Max Hardcore is a fucking pig. He definitely just crosses the line in all of his movies. What gets me is that women even want to work with the guy.

I have never heard of this guy, but can someone describe the general happenings in his scenes? From that little description up there, I wonder do the girls even fake pleasure at that crap or what?

coffeecakes, he's famous for 'extreme' porn, where women are peed on (he likes to aim for the mouth). Or extreme oral where women will gag til vomiting (and he'll keep going). Weird insertions, etc. Charming things like that. The women fake it for all of 3 minutes, then their eyes blank out.

Max Hardcore sounds like a thoroughly vile person but what does it say about society that there is apparently a (un)healthy market for this stuff? Takes me back to the feminism thread: many men really do hate women.

Yup. He has a thriving business. Which does not say much for humanity. But hey, he was indicted: better late than never. I guess. I can't think about it too much or I'll get into that whole 'looking into the abyss' thing.

Didn't someone link to a long article on Max Hardcore a couple months ago?
I think it's another interesting case of how porn influences mainstream life and vice versa. I guess I first became aware of "extreme" porn when Rob Black and the Extreme Associates people were the subject of an obscenity trial a few years back. One of their arguments was that their stuff was like some of the more violent 80's horror movies with sex added in. Now it seems that what was once 'extreme' porn is a big piece of the market and has influenced much of the more vanilla stuff. Also in the last few years all these torture horror movies have become popular. I'm worried to think what the next phase of extreme porn will be.
On a somewhat related topic, has anyone picked up a copy of Penthouse since it's come under new ownership? They're going for a more Maxim-y vibe to keep themselves relevant, but the photos are too softcore now (cough)no guys/penetration(cough) and I'm not liking it at all. There's still full nudity, but I felt like I might as well have bought a Playboy.

FYI, there's a new book out by Allan MacDonell called Prisoner of X: 20 Years in the Hole at Hustler that's an entertaining look of the life of an editor at an X-rated magazine. He's a funny writer, but it's also pretty interesting how this stuff cycles (and recycles), how society looks at its employees, etc.

Yeah, I'm bitterly disappointed with the new Penthouse. I've been a Penthouse fan since I first discovered Dad's stash when I was 9. Went to some lengths to complete my collection from the first US issue through 1983, then got annoyed at Guccione's soft focus fetish.
The new format is just tedious. The pictures are boring (though I have noticed an encouraging trend toward real breasts, and fewer tattoos), the quality looks like the photos were taken with a 2 megapixel point and shoot, and the written content is shallow in the extreme. At least Maxim has a sort of sophomoric sense of humor going for itself. It keeps coming in the mail, but I honestly don't remember renew the subscription. I don't care much for the magazine, so why would I buy it again?
Oh, how I long for the work of Earl Miller and Suze Randall. But then I like my porn to be shot on film and have plot, so I am clearly out of it.
