Why are their movie stars taking over the world? ... because any time a Kiwi actor becomes successful they're immediately labelled Australian (see: Crowe, Russell; Neill, Sam; etc.)? ;D

He's such on old has-been. How many versions of their greatest hits are there anyway? But in some twisted way, he may be spurring the Socceroo dream on...we're gonna show him!

Football is the game of the intelligentsia? I thought cricket and rugby union were supposed to be the 'gentlemanly' games. Even if I'm wrong, it's still a stupid thing to say.

I'd just like to introduce myself in this thread since my husband and I are possibly moving to Sydney in about two years for his work. He's had an informational phone interview with one of the VPs of the company and sent in his resume, but we're still not 100% sure it's something we want to do. It wouldn't be forever (two or three years), but there are a lot of pros and cons that we need to consider. We went to Australia (Sydney and Port Douglas) and New Zealand on our honeymoon, and when we were walking around Sydney I literally said to my new husband that I would have no problem moving there, so it's just sort of nice that this opportunity has come up for us.
Just wanted to let you guys know I might be lurking around here and pestering you with questions like, "Can I watch the American Office anywhere??"

No worries, MaryWebGirl, Aussies (and Kiwis) are a friendly bunch. Everyone is welcome here. ;D
And aboutl Noel...there are no words. Well, maybe one: knob. He's pasty and aging and needs to figure out that producing one half-way decent song ten years ago does not justify this superiority complex he seems to have. And he isn't one to talk about Aussie footy; England didn't exactly tear up the field at the World Cup either.

Sydney is a fun city - feel free to ask as many questions as you like! And yes, we do get the American Office ... although the British one rates better here.

Hey, Aussies... Do you know that most of you regularly eat a substance that has been BANNED IN THE USA!!!!That's right. The country that allows tons of refined carbohydrates and high fructose corn syrup and once listed ketchup as a vegetable has banned vegemite because vegemite contains folic acid. I love it when my government protects me!

Isn't folic acid good for you? I know it's given to women who are trying to get pregnant/are pregnant because it minimizes the chance of spina bifida. Anyhoo, vegemite is the yum.
