I remember going for a bite to eat at a restaurant in Broadbeach (in Queensland) a few years ago. I asked what the Soup of the Day was, and was told it was pumpkin. A couple of weeks later I went back and again, asked about the Soup of the Day and was told---pumpkin. The next time I went back I asked again and the waitress glared at me and replied between clenched teeth---"It's pumpkin. It's always pumpkin." And damned if it isn't always pumpkin.

Following Richie McCaw around is one of my favourite hobbies, hes just lovely. And very nice to talk to, as well. But hes no Dan Carter. Theres a reason hes sponsored for everything from sunglasses to undies, he looks good in anything. Or almost nothing. *swoon*

Just wanted to resurrect this thread and say congratulations to all the Kiwis regarding the All Blacks. Is that team invincible or what?
And whodya think is going to win the Springboks vs. Wallabies match? I'm an All Blacks fan (and NO, I am not a fair-weather fan; raised in Newcastle, but born in Auckland), but I'm still interested in how it's going to turn out.

Well, since I'm not even sure what sport the All Blacks are involved in (rugby?) I think I'll just briefly pop into this thread to scream:
TIMMMMMMMM TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMS!!!!!!!!
...as chocolately crumbs roll down my chest.
The kindly Tim Tam Fairy sent me some Tim Tams*. AND some Iced Vovos (sorry, sophisticates, I love 'em) AND a Pollywaffle AND a Violet Crumble. Lots of Tim Tams. Packs and packs of Tim Tams. I'm so full of chocolate cookies (sorry, biscuits) I feel nauseous. They're delicious and I finally understand what the far-from-home Aussies have been whining about all this time.
::beatific face::
So, what's the Aussie method for losing weight?
*And for this I promise to try very, very hard to stop fancying Shane Warne.

So, what's the Aussie method for losing weight? More Tim Tams. You'll build up a tolerance eventually.

If you eat enough of them as a teenager, then by your twenties, they won't be quite so exciting anymore. What am I talking about? We are the second fattest nation on earth - after the USA - and I blame Tim Tams. And those damn Krispy Kreme franchises.

I had a Violet Crumble once, ONCE, and I still look back on it fondly. And I've been hearing tales of the Tim Tams for over a decade now. Is there an online shop that sells these things? I'm not going to order them in this heat, mind, but for future reference...

Just because I can, I'm gonna go buy some right now from the dairy.
And then make a coffee, and nip diagonally opposite corners off the Tim Tam, and suck the coffee through the biscuit until the inside is all melty and smooshy. Then MUNCH, gone in one hit. Its GREAT.
If you can buy some online, make sure you do that.

For the non-Aussies, the Violet Crumble is exactly the same as a Crunchie. Except bigger. And with an awesomer name.

Foxfair, I can't believe the TimTam fairy forgot to send you a Cherry Ripe. Maybe she doesn't like them. How un-Australian! I looove iced vovos. So daggy but yum. My screenname is derived from a spoof on iced vovos from a shortlived talk show programme with the delicious Shaun Micallef. and let's not forget the savoury joys of Burger Rings and Twisties (cheese, not chicken flavour - yuck) British residents can buy aussie snacks from here. ETA: it's been so long since I posted I forgot how to do links.
