Here's the place to talk about socialites, jetsetters and Park Avenue princesses like Tinsley Mortimer, Plum Sykes, Aerin Lauder and their vapid colleagues. Pity how money can't erase the fug!

I just cannot understand how Aerin Lauder, as in Estee Lauder the cosmetics empire, looks like total shit in public. All the time! It's just incomprehensible!

Of them all, Samantha Boardman is the only one who isn't a guest editor at Vogue and doesn't have a clothing line. She's a psychiatrist, in fact! Did her residency at Cornell. Who'da thunk it?

I am amazed at how many of these socialites look like ass. Especially the ones who get plastic surgery-you would think with all that money they could have the very best. Ivanka Trump's breast implants-you can pretty much see the price tag on them.
That being said I kinda like Ivanka and Bee Shaffer (I think they both qualify as socialites to an extent)-they seem comparatively very normal and realise that they are lucky to be born into wealth.

I used to know a bit about these types of folks when my mom subscribed to Town & Country and they'd have features on the big societal functions and photospreads with some of these types. Here's a story about Casey Johnson (of the Johnson & Johnson fortune) adopting girl from Kazakhstan after an adoption from Cambodia fell through because of new adoption laws: Yeah, that's just how "the rest of us" live.

Eh, except for the closet room, that doesn't sound too insane (and who wouldn't want a whole room for a closet?) I mean, most people don't live like that, but it's not like she needs a room for her golden toilet and two more rooms for its attendants or anything. I would totally go for six bedrooms if I had that much money.

Quite possibly one of the most loathsome women on the planet. I wikipedia'd her because though I know her name, I know nothing about her. She named her daughter Ursula. Yikes.

The implants that suffocated Manhatten.
I really hope this adoption thing works out and Casey Johnson proves herself to be a good mom, because she comes off as bitchy and vile. Slightly less vile than her friends the Hiltons, but vile none the less.

The latest issue of Vogue has a full spread on our namesake's dear sister Alexandra Von Furstenburg and her new home in LA. I just loved reading about what a brilliant untrained interior designer she is, that she could just go in and start knocking out walls with no professional guidance and have everything turn out fabulous.
