Brigitte Bardot maybe a garbage person, but did they really have to add a bullet point about her looks? (same goes for the men)
Why doesn't surprise me that Hedda Hopper was a conservative? If she was alive today, I'm sure she'd be a fervent Trump supporter and trying to ruin the lives of liberal celebrities.
I'm disappointed they didn't include Harry Belafonte in the liberal list.

Wow! I didn't know that about Burt Lancaster. I would have assumed he was Republican. I read that whole post about him thinking it was about Charlton Heston because my brain malfunctioned for a bit. I was so so confused and wondered what had turned him into such a latter-day freak. Then reality reasserted itself and I was so glad because I have kind of loved Burt Lancaster since “Local Hero.”

Angela Allen was a script supervisor on classic films like Women in Love, Downhill Racer and The African Queen. Vulture interviewed her on Old Hollywood History.

I'm listening to "Make Me Over" the spin off podcast of "You Must Remember This" about Hollywood beauty. The episode about Merle Oberon, omg, it's so sad. She was Indian and Anglo, incredibly beautiful, but bleached her skin with products containing mercury, which are still on the market in weaker compounds. And when she tried to have a baby with her 2nd husband, found out her Fallopian tubes had been removed without her knowledge during an operation for cancer. I know this forced sterilization happened to many women but it's still so shocking and sad to hear about this. Imagine wanting a baby and someone took that away from you without your knowledge and/or consent. Jesus.
