Why isn't Sam Rockwell more famous? He's funny, charming, talented, and weirdly sexy.

You're right about Rockwell...if anything, I seem to be seeing less of him as time goes on, which, in a world where Paul Walker can be famous, is terrible.

My vote is for Josh Charles. He is most well known (I believe) as one of the leads in Sports Night, along with Peter Krause, who went on to Six Feet Under and Dirty Sexy Money. Most recently Josh was on In Treatment and I know he does a lot of theatre, but I really don't know why he's not doing so much more, I think he's a really talented actor. I did hear that he is doing a guest shot on SVU this season but I would love to see him as a lead in a series again.

This is probably a moot point after The Dark Knight, but why doesn't Aaron Eckhart have Brad Pitt/ George Clooney-level fame? He's hot and I'm not even that much into blond men, he's a very talented actor, um...he's hot.... I loved him in Thank You For Smoking, but it was kind of a smaller indie film and that was only three years ago. Before that he was a Hey It's That Guy! on my radar. It seems like fame really is about how many issues of People you can sell with your personal drama, and that saddens me. I hope Eckhart gets more famous so he can appear on more talk shows. He's funny!

I just watch The Lookout last night and someone has to explain to me how Joseph Gordon Levitt is not more famous but Shia LaBeouf is.

Oh yeah...Joseph G. Levitt is greatly, greatly talented. He seems to choose projects by quality, not marketability or quantity, so he doesn't always get the appreciation he deserves. The Lookout is also not-miss viewing, seriously. Every time I watch it I love it--and him--more. Mysterious Skin wasn't that strong a book-to-movie adaptation, but his role in it was fantastic.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is absolutely fabulous and I think he just needs 'that' role to catapult him onto the A-list.
I like Josh Charles as well and wish we saw him in more stuff.

I agree with almost everyone who has been mentioned, though I think The Dark Knight is going to give Aaron Eckhart much more recognition and bigger projects.
I wish Jensen Ackles got offered more than fantasy/horror stuff (while I like genre tv/films, they often aren't taken seriously), as he is both handsome and a good actor, and is always described as professional and courteous on message boards and in interviews. I see Timothy Olyphant as similar to Eckhart: has been in a big franchise (Die Hard), done some critically acclaimed work (HBO's Deadwood) and a romance (Catch and Release). I would say Olyphant is B/B+ list, and needs just one excellent starring movie role to make the jump.

Timothy Olyphant needs to break out big, so that I stop accidentally thinking of Timothy Hutton every time he gets mentioned. That keeps leading to some rather hilarious moments of confusion for me.
