I think the actress who owns this thread is Melanie Lynskey. I remember watching Heavenly Creatures and saying to others that her role in the movie was more provocative than Kate Winslet. I know there are a lot of Greecies who are KW fans, but I always felt underwhelmed by her performances. Is she a good actress? Yes, but I've always wondered why Melanie's career didn't take off the way Kate's did. It's sort of off putting that she had to appear on Two and a Half Men. I know she was young when she did HC, but you wonder.
I do find it ironic that the in movie Away We Go, directed by Kate's soon to be ex, Sam Mendes, Lynskey had a small part in the film.

I too am baffled by Brody's career choices, but I have actually enjoyed several of his performances since The Pianist. I wonder if he actually likes the sci-fi genre and that's why he's picking stuff there? Kind of like Keanu: he's another one that totally seems to be into those kinds of stories/movies even though he knows they don't get the same respect as non-sf stuff.
The Jacket with Brody is a REALLY good movie imo, but it's really weird and was mis-marketed imo. I was also one of the people who liked Peter Jackson's King Kong and thought Brody did good in that too. Right now he does seem to be doing the Nic Cage thing: steering away from the "serious" movies that might again put him in Oscar contention.

I am pretty sure Ryan has a few films in production right now. What about Cillian Murphy? Man...he is so breathtakingly beautiful and a great actor to boot. I haven't heard anything about him in what seems like forever.

Oh yeah, Melanie Lynskey, what the hell? She should be way more famous. She's a fantastic actor AND super-cute, yet she's doing crap like Two and a Half Men? Seriously, she deserves WAY better.

I haven't heard anything about him in what seems like forever. Cillian is in Christopher Nolan's new movie Inception (there's a thread for it up in the Movies folder,) it's out on July 16th. I think with him he only works when he really really wants to. |

I know most people here hate the show, but Two & a Half Men has been a top-ten show for years. Most actors would be thrilled to have a recurring role in such a successful series. |
