I just heard her cover of Don Henley’s “Dirty Laundry”. It is, unsurprisingly, quite bad. I am curious if any of you good, sane people support the ex - Mrs. Jackson‘s (to me) gratuitous and unfortunate career in music? Buy her album? Enjoy her songs? If so, can you please explain her appeal?

I actually liked the song "Lights Out." The lyrics were pretty sad.

I bought her album though I don't why. I really liked it though. Only complaint I had was the background music was a bit too loud and drowned her out at times.

I liked the song Lights Out. She can come up with some funny quips like on VH-1's, I Love__ series, but she married CEMJ and is a clam, two things that had Elvis spinning in his grave, I'm sure.

I heard it yesterday and liked it a lot. I really like her voice- the deep kinda gravelly texture.I bought the first CD for the song City Lights and wound up liking the whole thing. I'm looking forward to her next CD.

I'm looking forward to her next CD. Honestly, I don't think her voice is that bad. But to me it's like, we already have a Melissa Etheridge. Except LMP doesn't have that kind of soul in her work, in my opinion. I'm glad to hear from people that like her, though, 'cause I really was not getting it.

I've never heard any of her songs, but I think she's pretty cool. I've seen/read some of her interviews and she seems pretty normal considering. Yeah, I know she married Wacko, and I'm sure we'll never know what was up w that, but all in all she seems like she at least has a head on her shoulders. She also seems like a really decent mom, which is awesome. She's very protective of her children, esp. her daughter whose modeling now. And when she smiles - which is really rare - she can be quite pretty.

Yeah - the smiling is rare, and I cannot see why. She has money, kids with whom she appears to be close, she could undertake any endeavor and people would at least show an interest, she could have her pick of men (and she has, ooky as some of them have been) - why the perpetual bitchface and bitchitude?
I thought clams were happy! folk.

She also had a father whom she adored die in a pretty tragic way that has provided fodder for comedians for an eternity. She's had to watch her dad's life dissected constantly. She has an entire cult who follow her every move just because she's Elvis's daughter. She's lived her entire life under the "Elvis" microscope. And despite the fact that she seems to be more musically talented then her father (at least in the sense that she plays more instruments, and writes her own music) she will always be under the shadow and be judged by her dad's legacy. Oh and then there's the ultra controlling mother. I sorta feel sorry for the woman.
