She also had a father whom she adored die in a pretty tragic way that has provided fodder for comedians for an eternity. She's had to watch her dad's life dissected constantly. She has an entire cult who follow her every move just because she's Elvis's daughter. She's lived her entire life under the "Elvis" microscope. And despite the fact that she seems to be more musically talented then her father (at least in the sense that she plays more instruments, and writes her own music) she will always be under the shadow and be judged by her dad's legacy. Oh and then there's the ultra controlling mother. I sorta feel sorry for the woman. And she married Michael Jackson! Let me repeat that: she married Michael Jackson. And as we saw at the VMAs, she had actual physical contact with him. *shudder* Whatever her crimes, she's been adequately punished, imo.

She looks sort of manly to me but I think her daughter is pretty.

When she and CEMJ got married I recall seeing an interview with the two of them conducted by -- I think -- Diane Sawyer. What I recall is that LMP seemed to be trying to answers questions seriously while CEMJ was acting like an idiot. For example, at one point while LMP was addressing a question, CEMJ leaned back all giggly and made "devil's horns" with his fingers behind her head. They came off like the most mis-matched couple ever.
I've got nothing against her. I'm not sure I've ever heard any of her songs. But I always get an aura of sadness about her. If for nothing else, you've got to give her credit for going out there and giving the music biz a shot, considering who her father was.

I remember that interview. I didn't know much about her then but I couldn't believe they were together they just did not fit. But I do remember thinking she was absolutely flawlessly beautiful in that interview.

I have no opinion whatsoever of her music, as I don't think I have ever heard one of her songs, but I like her. I'm not sure why...I guess because she strikes me as someone who says what she thinks. I've seen (and read) several interviews with her, and she really doesn't seem concerned with trying to conform to her peers. She's always seemed pretty honest about her life and her career.
On a side note, she and Nic Cage were in town for our annual film festival (back when they were still together), and they attended one of the parties. One of my boyfriend's friends was DJing, and he started to play "Billie Jean" (it's worth noting that he was unaware of Ms. Presley's presence at the time). Anyway, one of her "people" went up to the booth and requested that he stop playing the song "at Ms. Presley's request." He refused, and she looked really uncomfortable, since people began to turn and look at her to see her reaction. I felt sort of bad for her, but I still think it's pretty amusing.

VCR alert: LMP will be on Monday's Oprah. There was a teaser where Oprah asked her if she actually loved CEMJ--of course, to find out the answer you'll have to tune in on Monday.

I just saw the video this past weekend, and I really liked it and her rendition of 'Dirty Laundry'. I also liked 'Lights Out'. I have never purchased any of LMP's albums, but I have heard her sing live. She is unpolished, to say the least. And yes, she does have a crippling case of bitchface. But I really like her for some reason. It must be residual Elvis affection.

Part 2 of the interview airs today.
My impressions: She doesn't seem like a pleasant person to be around.
She told her story like she was just a "snowed" by everyone. I don't think she's as naive, innocent, and unknowing as she'd like to portray. The MJ Marriage "he snowed! i didn't know what I was doing!". Yeah, right....because you hadn't been married before, right?
Perpetual frown.

I don't like her. As others have pointed out, she has a fatal case of bitchface.
Yes, she's had a sad childhood. Her dad died. She's got weirdos following her every move, but I still just get massively annoyed by her.
I can't believe she's even remotely valid enough to get involved to awards shows let alone be a presenter.
And I hated Dirty Laundry when Henley did it. It's a little too "Waah! Famous people have feelings too! Quit following us and taking pictures. Damn, it's rough being rich and famous" Whatever.
