Recently I've added Richard Armitage John Thornton from North and South to the list. Welcome to the club. Armitage aside, I think John Thornton is one of the more overlooked romantic heros since Darcy & Heathcliff hog the spotlight. Here we go, another falls for Richard Armitage John Thornton. Love North & South the book, a lot. Darcy is very 2-D next to Thornton in the stories. ETA: Shorty Spice, Evil Minion is correct. A lot of Neil Gaiman's stories are stand alones, except for a few things. Namely "The Sandman" series. It is a collection of 10 graphic novels. It will cost you aroung $100 for the whole set, but it is my favorite. Just go into the book store and take a look at some the stories a little closer. See what works for you.

I've never been able to really crush on Heathcliff, but I do have all sorts of love for his nephew Hareton. Also, I want a t-shirt that says "Mrs. Levi who is called Biff."

Brat Farrar from Josephine Tey's book of the same name. Robert Blair from The Franchise Affair.
Dr. Watson for a husband, Sherlock Holmes for the total bastard every woman seems to fall for.
And- Lad. Well, I wanted to have a dog like him, not marry him. Although I'm currently engaged to an Australian Shepherd named Henry Cornelius.
And Jules Cassidy from Suzanne Brockmann's SEALs series. I know he's gay, but he's so cute!

Because he is teh sex! Just finished with the 5th one and now I'm going to have to start all over again because it's Scottish time traveling crack! I'm resurrecting this thread to add my own 'hell ya'. I've just started these books, they've been on my shelf for over 15 years!! I'm actually dreaming about Jamie now. Such a vivid character. God, I want to go to Scotland so badly. Are the rumours of a film still making the rounds?

I'm resurrecting the thread to announce my long standing literary crush on one Mr. Steven Wakefield, from the Sweet Valley series. He better be in that new book.

Sure! Admittedly, it started when I discovered SVH at about age 9...

Yeah, but who cared about Steven Wakefield when Bill Chase was around?!

I was more of a Max Dellon and Guy Chesney fangirl.

So many literary heroes, even my beloved Gilbert Blythe, are fairly one-dimensional, but Joe is such a... character! I love his sense of humor. And his support of Betsy's writing alone would forever endear me. I was always fond of Papa Ray, because he was such a cool parent without being one of those people who wants to be their kid's friend. Mac Campbell from Eight Cousins and Rose in Bloom. I have a soft spot for ugly ducklings who become swans.
