Oh, Calvin O'Keefe. Sigh. I was always so jealous of Meg. Where was MY Calvin? "you've got dream-boat eyes." edited b/c I had the gist of the quote(s) right but not exactly.

I love Bertie Wooster of P.G. Wodehouse's Jeeves and Wooster series. He is a wonderful character with an enormous heart.
I have so much love for Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter. I want to take him out for dinner, stroke his hair and shower him with affection. He's just adorable.

I have been re-reading some more stuff and remembered a few more crushes.
Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing. he's funny, willing to laugh with you, and is endearingly sweet when he finally admits to being in love.
Also both Paul and Dave from the Fionavar Tapestry.
Has anyone read Sharon Kay Penman's Welsh Trilogy? Llwelyn Fawr sounds simply gorgeous and charming. Also willing to forgive stuff, which is always good.
I also like Cantripp from Sarah Cauldwell's mystery series.

Yes, Neville is precious. Aside from my beloved Snape, he's my favorite.

Me too! I loved reading Much Ado About Nothing out loud in class because I loved the Benedict and Beatrice conversations. The movie adaptation is quite good too.
Another literary character that I have (yes, present tense) a crush on is Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. He is totally the ideal guy. *sigh* Colin Firth played him so well in the miniseries.

Word on the Mr.Darcy/Dickon/Heathcliff/Atticus Finch love.
I always had big things for Neil Cotton from "I Capture the Castle" (dude, I was a nerdy book loving kid, and even I knew he was the much hotter brother)
and of course, Stephen the handyman (why couldnt I be the nerdy book loving kid he worshiped. Especially since he looked like a "Greek God.")
I also like Marcus Flutie from "Sloppy firsts". When oh when is the third book coming out?
Steerpike from Gormenghast and Sirius Black from Harry Potter.

Another one for Gilbert Blythe. He had me at "Carrots".
Speaking of Carrots...Captain Carrot from the "Discworld" series and also Lord Vetinari, who I keep picturing as Christopher Eccleston.

Another one for Atticus Finch. How can you not love that man?
Ford Prefect from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was my first and longest standing literary boyfriend. My love for him knows no bounds.
Of course, Remus Lupin from Harry Potter. I just want to reach through the pages and give him a hug and some hot chocolate, the poor guy.

For me, Atticus was the ideal father. I so wanted him to be my father.
Although, as been said before, you know he and Maudie were a bit more than neighborly.

This is sorta embarrassing, but I had a tiny little crush on Harry from Harry Potter books (when I first read them, which was of course years ago!). Joshua from Madeleine L'Engle's "Arm of the Starfish" I'd agree with Sydney Carton from "A Tale of Two Cities." Just about everybody from "The Outsiders" but especially Darry! And of course, Will Stanton from Dark is Rising books.
